Brother TN450 High Yield Toner Cartridge Black
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

5 out of 5 eggs fool this printer into taking your old toner 05/06/2013

This review is from: Brother TN450 High Yield Toner Cartridge Black

Pros: This toner is the original but you still can fool the printer into taking a toner that is not original or a toner that is not actually empty but still has several hundred more pages of toner in it.

Cons: The printer likes to call for toner too early before it is actually empty

Other Thoughts: As some of the previous reviews have already talked about, the printer has a built in toner change meter. In order to fool the printer into taking an old toner cartridge before it is actually empty and needs to be changed, you must first select the Menu button of the printer. Then select General. Then select Replace Toner. Then choose the down arrow and change the selection from "Stop" to "Continue". Then press the OK button. Then change the toner or actually just pull the toner out, shake it and put it back in again. Then press the OK button to continue. Your printer should accept the "old" toner as new and allow you to continue to use it. You may also have to press the green "Start" button on the printer 7 times to get around the message to replace the toner as stated by a previous reviewer.

Apple MD098ZM/A Apple Digital AV Adapter (OEM)

1 out of 5 eggs this one was in the water 04/06/2013

This review is from: Apple MD098ZM/A Apple Digital AV Adapter (OEM)

Pros: looks just like an official Apple adapter with all the normal markings

Cons: didn't work out of the package. It caused a delay on both the iPad and iPhone 4S. When attempting to play video, nothing appeared on the 55 inch Samsung. An error popped up on every video stating "Cannot Play Movie The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies." This is with every video including the free 1 minute previews. Also the connecter heated up after a short while so I think it has a short due to rust or water damage.

Other Thoughts: I am sure refurbished means different things to different people depending on your experience. I usually do fairly well with refurbished hardware. This product has seen water damage and I don't think it can be easily fixed.

ZOTAC ZT-50708-10M GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: includes 2 DVI 1 HDMI standard (not mini) and 1 Display port that can be converted to DVI with appropriate cable. Price is right after rebate. relatively quiet

Cons: large sized card but not much more than about 9 inches. takes 4 power connections into the 2 6 pin connectors but that is standard these days I found out.

Other Thoughts: I have many years experience in the computer building area but I am a bit of a novice in this area because I never spent more than 100 bucks on a card before. I am very impressed with the game play at this level. I plugged it into my 55" Samsung LED TV and started up Crysis 2 with DX11 Tessellation pack plus hi res enhancement pack. At 1920x1080p the picture and sound are incredible. I can't wait to try some older games like Half Life 2 and see how this card does compared to my older Nvidia cards. I am using an AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black and 20GB GSkill Ripjaws RAM on a MSI 890GXM-G65
