Buying more right now
Pros: Runs with no overclock and the 2-3-3-6 timing no problem. I am rock solid with 2.5-3-3-5 at 222 MHz FSB (DDR-444). (DFI LanParty NF4 UT mobo)
Cons: Reports 2.5-3-3-6 as its default speed to the bios, which is guaranteed to work with 4 sticks installed, so if you only have one pair you'll need to edit it manually.
Overall Review: I am getting a second pair to tide me over until I can afford 2G of PC4000 as a single pair. No complaints!
SMART fail already?
Pros: Nice and fast. I love Seagate Hybrid drives, and regardless of the score I give this one, you should still buy one.
Cons: Failed at 7 months. SMART failures for Uncorrectable Sector Count and Current Pending Sector Count. I also have corrupted files (system hangs when loading some virtual machines). Yes, it is truly failing.
Overall Review: Drives fail. Still, I can't justify a 5-egg rating for a drive that didn't last.
Actual USB3.
Pros: Shows up as a super-speed hub. Separates USB2 traffic. Windows shows file transfers from memory devices at their max speeds. I am quite pleased.
Cons: It's not a powered hub. I was looking for an unpowered hub, but if you want to power a stack of webcams this is probably not the device for you.
Overall Review: In general, the case and cable are high quality with no frills. Has an LED to show it is connected which is blue but not obscenely bright. Would buy again.
Fast
Pros: Fast, dependable (well it hasn't failed yet).
Cons: I can't find any cons.
Overall Review: It's the basis for a Linux system built on my old gaming laptop, with no swap, and hasn't had any issues yet. I haven't run tests, but based on system performance it's consistently good. I am about to order another one, which I think says it all really.
Received old stock (V1)
Pros: Physically attractive. Mad sick great range, and you can manage many hundreds of them from a central app, and they do mesh networking and a lot of other magical autoprovisioning things. Very cool.
Cons: If you only have one, and you want it to be a simple standalone AP bridge, you might want to configure it with the very simple Unifi Mobile App. And if you are sent an old-stock V1 model, this is not supported, even with a firmware upgrade. This makes setup a bit clunky, to put it nicely. It's really probably worth it.
Overall Review: The LR is the 2.4G only model. Consider the Pro model.
Works great at 720p
Pros: Works great at 720p, the only resolution my current setup supports. Seems well constructed.
Cons: Flat ribbon not as great for short patch cable type runs as a standard round ribbon would be.
Overall Review: I'm not sure how important "flat" is on a half-meter run.
Official store is official
Legitimate branded product as described in factory-new sealed packaging from the official store. Fulfilled by the 'zon :( but hey if they want to risk a bad rating it's no skin off my back. This time it came quickly!
