Great w/Ubuntu 10.10

SAMSUNG NF310-A01 Intel Atom N550(1.50 GHz) 10.1" 1GB DDR3 Memory 250GB HDD Netbook
SAMSUNG NF310-A01 Intel Atom N550(1.50 GHz) 10.1" 1GB DDR3 Memory 250GB HDD Netbook

Pros: Good Battery life (>7 hrs) Samsung Tools work well in Ubuntu Boots in about 20 seconds (w/Intel X25-V SSD) High Resolution screen

Cons: Came w/lots of crapware Upgraded to Home Premium and found many of the Fn keys wouldn't work Battery life didn't come close to the advertised length (<6 hrs w/Home Premium)

Overall Review: Doubled the RAM and moved much of the temp file stoage to a RAMdisk to lessen the R/W cycles on the SSD even though the linux kernel supports TRIM.

Horrible Support

Linksys E2000 Wireless Router Selectable Dual Band Gigabit 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4/5GHz up to 300Mbps
Linksys E2000 Wireless Router Selectable Dual Band Gigabit 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4/5GHz up to 300Mbps

Pros: When working properly the router worked well.

Cons: Web Chat support dropped me twice before any troubleshooting of my issue could occur. I spent 53 min. on the phone for technical support. The technician I worked with on the second half of the call thought the router was working properly because I could ping between two computer connected to the router. This test and checking if I received an IP address were the 2 troubleshooting steps that the technician attempted before wanting to charge for technical support - which is something I have never had a consumer electronics company do. Below is an email that I sent to the main contact email at Cisco after the support. I haven't heard anything useful back in 6 days.

Overall Review: Your "Award Wining" Technical Support was completely worthless. I spent over 50 minutes on the phone without a single thing done that could help diagnose the issue or get me closer to an RMA. This is unacceptable. Most items that I have received an RMA for recently required no troubleshooting with technician because I had done the work myself to show that the unit in question was a problem. In this instance I switched everything except the Ubuntu server out while troubleshooting the problem. The only change that made any difference was replacing the Linksys router (even resetting the Linksys router had no effect). There is no way around the fact that the Linksys router is the problem; the router is still under warranty and therefore I expect an RMA to be issued. The RMA should be issued to this email or call my number below to contact me about a RMA.

Linux kernel 3.9

Rosewill RNG-406Uv2 - Ethernet Adapter, 10/100/1000 Mbps, USB 3.0, 1 x RJ45
Rosewill RNG-406Uv2 - Ethernet Adapter, 10/100/1000 Mbps, USB 3.0, 1 x RJ45

Pros: Works fine with Linux Mint Debian using Linux kernel 3.9rc4. Samba transfer rates over 35 MB/s.

Cons: Wasn't recognized out of the box (Linux kernel 3.7).

Overall Review: I compiled the new kernel from source to get the cypress touchpad working on my laptop. There was also new drivers available to make for this NIC.
