love sonicwall

SONICWALL 01-SSC-6947 TZ 205 Wireless-N Network Security Appliance (Hardware Only)
SONICWALL 01-SSC-6947 TZ 205 Wireless-N Network Security Appliance (Hardware Only)

Pros: I have been working with Sonicwall firewalls for years and I love them. You get all the functionality of Cisco products without the "attend $20,000 worth of classes to do it" problem. Tech support is awesome as well. Yes, for complicated things like forward ports, multiple WAN connections, you'll need help, but I have yet to post something to the support group and not get an answer within 12 hours.

Cons: Make sure you buy it for the size you really need... don't skimp! I tried to use a TZ 210 once (before I knew better) to run a 100+ room hotel... it would do it, but not with intrusion prevention and antivirus scanning turned on...

neat board but better ones out there

ASRock Z77 Extreme3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z77 Extreme3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: The board is pretty nice looking, fancy, etc. Not a bad price for the features but not a great price.

Cons: You can find boards for a little more money that have things like built in wireless... or might take a BIOS update (that was downloaded straight from the vendor website) or maybe would work with a hard drive that isn't brand new (had to special order an SSD drive to work with this, delaying the project even further).

Overall Review: Seriously... I've never seen a motherboard that wouldn't work with _any_ hard drive you plug in to it. Why won't this one? Here's what happens: use an older hard drive on this motherboard and when you install Windows 7, it asks for a driver because it can't see the board. Yes, we tried different SATA ports and different settings (ACHI/IDE), it was the new hard drive that made it work. Oh, don't try a BIOS update either... it wouldn't recognize the three different files we tried. Well, it would recognize them as BIOS update files but then tell us it couldn't load it.

best bang for the buck right now (12/14)

SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 285 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 100374OCL
SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 285 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 100374OCL

Pros: card is the best bang for the buck in December of 2014 - card is fast, fairly cheap, great upgrade

Cons: Not sure I can list a con yet... here in the past couple weeks my dual 27" monitors (Ben-Q) have started to not go to sleep. I've reset the timer, rebooted the PC, seems to work the first or second time then not again. Not sure I can blame the card yet though. May update this when I get time to narrow down the problem.

great cards!

Zotac ZT-60607-10L GeForce GT 610 Graphic Card - 810 MHz Core - 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM - PCI Express 3.0
Zotac ZT-60607-10L GeForce GT 610 Graphic Card - 810 MHz Core - 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM - PCI Express 3.0

Pros: I have a lot of customers who buy Dell Inspiron desktops... they have one PCI 16x slot and two PCI 1x slots... this card is great for when they want more than two monitors. I can slap two of them on the PCI 1x slots and get up to four monitors. For a business customer who wants to run spreadsheets, word processing, email and websites, they're great. Will they play games? not many... will they handle adobe photoshop? not very well... but they work great for their intended audience... business apps on multiple monitors. I buy a couple of these every month it seems here late.y

Cons: none assuming you're using them for what they're designed for...

amazing router

ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router
ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router

Pros: I installed DD-WRT on this router and I can do almost as much with it as I can with a $600 Sonicwall (aside from antivirus scanning and content filtering)... works great for site to site and site to client VPN connectivity, multiple public IPs, guest wireless, etc etc signal is amazing too... my house was built in the 1880s. what this means is the walls are 18" of old-style concrete.,.. this router is in the basement. In front of my house I get, on my cell, 2/5 bars and upstairs on the 2nd floor I am getting 5/5

Cons: I thought about giving this router 4/5 stars only because it's very slow to access and use USB drives connected to it... however, then I realized that I'm using DD-WRT, not the stock firmware, so it may work great under stock firmware, not sure... otherwise, this router is awesome and definitely a great buy for the money.

inexpensive wireless

Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard And Mouse Combo For Windows, 2.4 GHz Wireless, Compact Mouse, 8 Multimedia And Shortcut Keys, For PC, Laptop - Black

Pros: works great, no issues so far, only $20! very good buy for the money

Cons: not ergonomic but I don't like those anyway...

never shipped item

I emailed them through newegg and I emailed them through their own website... I contacted newegg multiple times to try and figure out where my item was, absolutely nothing has happened with this in the past three weeks. Gaiacom stated that they shipped it but their tracking number is a lie... no communication since the first day the order was placed. Do not do business with these guys.
