This review is from: Symantec Norton Security [For 5 Devices] (Product Key Card)
Pros: Compatible with several platforms (Android, Mac and PCs).
Got a perfect score from AV-Test and top scores from other labs.
Very good price if you are protecting 4 or 5 devices.
It comes with anti-theft features for your Android device. When you lock a device it automatically transmits location every 5 minutes and snaps a photo every 10 minutes (smile thief).
Devices can be mananged (add & remove devices) Online.
Excellent at removing and cleaning infected systems.
I think it has one of the best phishing and firewall protection.
According to Symantec website if they cannot remove a virus they will refund the purchase price. That's a way to 'put their money where their mouth is.'
Cons: It can get expensive if you are just protecting a couple of devices.
If you renew by entering a key it will remove your remaining days. You could open a chat and have the time added back but I think I should not have to.
Pros: Very cheap
Easy to setup.
Could be monitor from computer*, and mobile devices (Android & iOS) remotely.
Only one cable per camera.
Cons: Email alert might not work depending on email provider. I could not get Microsoft Outlook or Google Gmail to work.
The system cannot find hard drive at times, or it thinks the hard drive is not formatted. May have to reboot system hard drive to go back online.
Only works with Internet Explorer in Compatibility View, there is not support for Chrome or Firefox.
The software (Zviewer) to access live video and recordings needs work.
Cameras won't refocus if system is reboot in the dark.
Other Thoughts: If you want a reliable system look elsewhere, but you will pay a higher price.
Make sure to open the package and setup the system and test cameras before installing them.
Even thought the system is cheap, I do expect the features included to work as they should.
On a computer you will have to use Zviewer or Internet Explorer since the NVR is not accessible with Chrome nor Firefox.
