Four SATA, Great little system
Pros: Very nice board. Powerful E8400 Core2 Duo 3.0 Ghz. Four SATA 2 PCIE 16 one PCIE 1 one PCI. Place and power for second 3.5" HD. Display Port and VGA for two monitors. Plenty of Legacy connections including PS2 for that old mouse or keyboard. Win 7 64 bit Professional included. You could actually use it for a different system and install Linux on this one.
Cons: DDR 2 memory is expensive. The other machines for about $40 more use DDR 3 worth it if you want 8G memory or more. Not the fault of NewEgg so on deduction on stars. Weak not horrible video but place for two cards so not a big deal.
Overall Review: Windows 7 Pro makes this system cost almost nothing. It cost me only a few dollars more than just Windows 7. This is a great little system that can support a decent video card and in fact has same power supply as the mid tower cases. With room for two hard drives and a connection for a third and place to put it (not the sata cable) you can have three Hard Drives and the DVD. Though power for the third is not provided so you would need to address that. I used the wires for the floppy converter to SATA power. Set 2.5 SSD on top of 3.5.
Tablet OS forced Desktop
Pros: Solid OS. It actually is a bit better than Windows 7 at doing what an OS should do. But part of that comes from making it ugly squared off everything a Windows 3.1 look. If functions well. It is nothing like Vista, ME or other truly broken MS OS's.
Cons: Unnecessary learning curve. Unnecessary extra step to get into Desktop environment. Little thinking on Metro Interface for usage with a mouse. Ugly square boxes without visual indication of status/function. Step back from Win 7 in many ways. Eliminated Start button that was in Beta version (an insane decision). Will not play DVD's out of the box. You are forced to download apps to make it work right.
Overall Review: With a tiny amount of concern for Desktop Users this could have been a five star OS. Just give the option to start on the Desktop and have the Start Button. Simple to have implemented but instead MS choose to screw the users and thus themselves. No excuse.
Not a gaming keyboard as no drivers exist for it. Thus keys not programmable on mouse. Not gaming usable.
Pros: Great keyboard for the price paid. It feels much better and the keys stick up enough they should not easily get stuck if you happen to eat and use the keyboard like so many. I would buy again. Plug and play software worked. The volume keys work. The green looks nice. The top row of special keys easily visible. Not the rest. Keyboard quite sturdy. The keys attach tightly but can be removed. I see that as an advantage if something gets caught under them. Also if you wanted to change the keyboard as some do. This mouse feels better in my hand than most. It fits better and is easy to grab. Not too light or too heavy. Not too large.
Cons: Deducted star as i see no justification for calling it a gaming keyboard. The mouse buttons can not be programmed Page forward and back is all the two on the side do. Useful browsing I suppose not useful in gaming as advertized. The key labels are not visible even with the lights on. You have to move the keyboard to look almost directly down to see any of the letters. Far worse if the green lighting is off. Even with the room dark can not see the labels. All I see is green in the background of the keys. Although the top row of keys are lit fine. Those easily seen. Did not deduct because at this price the lighting is a bonus. Well done as it is rather evenly lit. Just the labels need a bit bigger or clearer to show the light. Other reviews mentioned the poor visibility so I was aware. I mostly touch type the lighting does help me position my fingers on the keyboard.
Overall Review: I wish mice and keyboards would use micro usb cords. Then if an animal tore up the cable it could be replaced easily. Or if you just wanted a longer or different cable you could do so. I agree a dedicated switch for the lights would be much better. However it is clearly stated that ctrl lck controls. So you know what you are buying. To call it gaming is misleading. I see very little gaming advantage. Branding the Microsoft Keys Cooler Master. Not smart.
Beautiful well made
Pros: Goes together easily yet very strong and beautiful. Just works. Great price for USB 2.0.
Cons: Feels like I stole it. No USB3.
Overall Review: Simple and easy, Aluminum easily disperses heat of drive.
Silent good performance.
Pros: Small, room for two hard drives. Decent CPU. Expansion good. Not USF that factor is problematic.
Cons: Picky on memory. Windows Business
Overall Review: Very happy with machine. I have two full size and one SSC with DVD writer from another machine I had. Though you could have three hard drives and no DVD. I had to rig up the extra power connecter. There are four SATA connectors though the one has to be used first with a HDD. I did not subtract for Vista Busines as this is clear and if your use Linux that could be a plus. I paid more to get Win 7 Pro on mine a bit back. This is a great price.
WD Drives not reliable
Pros: Worked well for 14 months as it should have for much longer.
Cons: Failed after 14 months. Now I read reviews and wonder if I was lucky it worked for that long. There are only two companies making drives now.
Overall Review: I paid $59 in May 2011 we are being ripped off by the new Duopoly. We should be getting a 3 GB drive for this price now. SSD's a bigger rip off. Flash is cheap but no cheap SSD's.
