Overall Review: I bought this drive a little over 2 years ago. In recent weeks, the performance degraded dramatically and my machine was so slow. I have never experienced anything like that before. The drive was moderately used in a desktop machine. Yesterday, I needed to get an emergency replacement drive, since this drive was dead. What surprises me, is the short live span. All my drives usually last between 4 and 7 years before they finally give up. This might be an exception and other users might have a different experience, but for me it was quite surprising. I wouldn't buy this drive again, since the reliability of seagate drives seem to have declined (search for backblaze hard drive to buy).
