This review is from: StarTech ESATAPLATE1 12" (1 ft.) eSATA Data Internal to External Slot Plate
Pros: It works exactly as it should. It is an inexpensive solution.
Other Thoughts: My old motherboard had an on board ESATA connector. Very few newer motherboards have one. This fit my ASUS H97M-E micro ATX board and Rosewill Line M case with room to spare.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This PS is quiet and efficient. It works fine in my new I5-4690K / ASUS H-97M-E Haswell build.
Cons: It's not modular. But, I knew that going in.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my 6 year old HEC Raptor 500 because I suspected that PS was the reason that my AMD 9600 / ASUS M3N78-EM box was not waking up from sleep mode. My suspicions were correct. I was pleasantly surprised by how much cooler and quieter this unit is. I did ultimately decide to build a new computer. But this allowed me to take my time. I did re-use this PS for the new box.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I bought this board instead of other similar priced boards because my last 2 builds were ASUS boards. This has all of the latest interfaces and runs the latest Haswell chips. The M-2 port is unique in this price range. The new GUI interface is a noticeable improvement. The instruction booklet was straightforward for the assembly portion, but a little hard to read for the BIOS portion. The most important part was that, when I turned it on the first time, everything was recognized and worked.
Cons: There are only 4 SATA ports. There is no ESATA port, but I was able to buy an ESATA plate and set the port to allow hot swap. This arrived at my door in a jiffy bag instead of a box. I was surprised that it survived the shipping gorillas.
Other Thoughts: This is replacing my 6 year old ASUS M3N78-EM / AMD 9600 build. The old motherboard has an on board ESATA port.
The new build is:
Intel Core i5-4690K
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Everything is playing nice together.
