Pros: I installed this on my ASUS H97M-E motherboard and it was recognized and running at the proper speed without any adjustments. The motherboard test showed zero errors. The heat spreaders are smaller than most other DDR3 modules.
Cons: None.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I bought this to replace my 6 year old AMD-9600 rig. This chip is 50% faster, but the bandwidth is the same. I don't overclock my CPU's. The reason that I bought this versus the locked chip was because this was on sale for $209.00. I installed it on an ASUS H97M-E motherboard with Win 7 sp1 and 8 gig of RAM. The rig has been as stable as a rock. For the first time ever, Intel has finally developed decent video.
Cons: This chip runs hot, even with a Cooler Master EVO 212. When I use NERO to recode video for a Blu-Ray disc, this runs 20 degrees hotter than my old AMD-9600 chip did with the stock cooler....75 vs 55 degrees. NERO pushes both chips out to the 90% usage rate for hours at a time.
Other Thoughts: Moore's law is broken. It's 6 years later and the only improvement is a jump in clock speed from 2.3 to 3.5 GHz. Yes, the lithography is smaller, but the power consumption of the CPU's are almost identical. Truth be told, I was far more impressed with my 6 year old AMD-9600 since it was never designed to take the beating that I subjected it to.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: StarTech ESATAPLATE1 12" (1 ft.) eSATA Data Internal to External Slot Plate
Pros: It works exactly as it should. It is an inexpensive solution.
Other Thoughts: My old motherboard had an on board ESATA connector. Very few newer motherboards have one. This fit my ASUS H97M-E micro ATX board and Rosewill Line M case with room to spare.READ FULL REVIEW
