5 out of 5 eggs Follow Up Review 02/23/2014

This review is from: Astro Gaming A50 Circumaural Headset - Black

Pros: Just wanted to follow up on my last review. Everything I mentioned the 1st time on this headset still stands true. Its Great

Cons: I have 1 annoyance that I have noticed over the last few weeks of using this headset with a pc. If you use only USB for the input and output devices, the mic will pick up ambient noises and cause a feint buzzing in the headset. So I highly recommend not using USB as the audio device when you hook this up

5 out of 5 eggs Ahh Matte Black, where have you been all my life 02/08/2014

This review is from: Razer Naga Hex League of Legends PC Gaming Mouse

Pros: I've had a Naga Hex (Red one) For over a year now. It is an excellent mouse, I originally bought it because I wanted a mouse with more buttons when I started back playing WoW, but I hated the feel of the old Naga's buttons. After living with the Red Hex for so long, I have noticed 2 major issues. 1 the glossy finish is a nightmare during long gaming sessions, it gets stick and gross and makes your hand sweat. 2 some moved the perfectly placed mouse 4 & 5 buttons from the easily reachable position they were in on the left mouse button (see naga molten, and stuck them in the unreachable position behind the mouse wheel.

I bought this mouse because it address the worst of those issues. Matte black is the best! Tho I'm not really a League of legends guy, but the finish is amazing.

Cons: Razer, make another hex with this finish, green backlighting (to match the blackwidow), and your logo on it. Also fire who ever made the "executive" decision to move the mouse 4-5 buttons.

- Yellow Back lighting.
- LoL logo
- Mouse button 4-5 position.

Other Thoughts: Strongly considered the New 2014 Naga, since it has the color scheme I like, doesn't say League of Legends on it, and now has mechanical buttons, but I'm think I'm too used to the Hex button layout now. If you don't have a multi button mouse, I would strongly suggest you take a look at this and the 2014 Naga.

5 out of 5 eggs So Far, So Good 02/08/2014

This review is from: Astro Gaming A50 Circumaural Headset - Black

Pros: First off, I've had a Logitech G930, Turtle Beach Ear Force Tango, a Corsair Vengeance 1500, and other misc headsets over the years, and this is by far the nicest, most pleasing to wear, the best looking, and the best sounding.

Audio Quality is Fantastic. It seems like all the mic buzz, and random audio pops have been fixed. So far I have yet to hear any unpleasant sounds, that weren't coming from my audio source (dam you random audio adds)
Setup is a breeze.
The headset and mix amp look very slick sitting on your desk.
Very solid.
Very comfortable fit, albeit looser than I'm used to (Replaced a G930)
No Software required.

Here's a little info that I was curious about before ordering, and never really fond an answer to.

When you go to hook this up to a pc, the only necessary connection is the USB power. Your PC will recognize the headset as a "Playback Device" and a "Recording" device and you will get great sound. You can also connect your PC's sound with the included optical cable. I personally can't tell the difference in sound quality (if their is one), But using just the USB for your PC allows you to connect another device to this (atleast for audio purposes, not sure how chat works, no consoles) which is nice, since you can avoid switching cables around if you do want to Watch TV late at night, or play Xbox or something.

Cons: The headset charging cable is basically use less.
My headset came with no charge, so the 1st thing I had to do to use it was dig out a USB cable of acceptable length so I could put it on my head.

May be to loose fitting for people with small heads. Perfect for my noggin tho, but I could see some people having a problem

The stand is lacking. It doesn't have enough weight, and is really too narrow where the headset rests on it.
After looking around a lot, I ordered a nice aluminum stand from Woo Audio. It's like 5 lbs, looks amazing and keeps my $300 headset from sitting on my desk, or being knocked on the floor.

Other Thoughts: Great headset, if you can spare the money, you won't be disappointed.

Warning, getting use to wireless headsets will cause you to never be able to get a wired one again.
