dose not work
Pros: The mouse has back and forward buttons that are well positioned.
Cons: The keyboard and mouse lose connection all the time. When I have them 2-3 feet away from the receiver it is bad, but when I go to my couch 6 feet away it’s a nightmare. Typing, gaming and not smashing the keyboard when it kills for the 5th time are near impossible. The connection is so bad it manages to screws up dragon age a game where the battle is fought 90% of the time in pause.
Overall Review: As soon as I get the cash for a new keyboard this one is going to find itself in a dark place waiting for the garbage truck.
Good until the fire
Pros: It worked fine for three years.
Cons: There was a wire that short circuited and caused a fire. The wire that shorted was in a cluster of other wires and they are all melted/burn, so I can tell exactly which wire short. I don't think it was one of the wire directly form the PSU, however that is not the problem. There was a good 2-3 minutes that when by in between Jimmy coming down from is room to tell us he smelled smoke and us figuring out it was coming from the PC. During that time the PSU never turned off and kept dumping power in to the shorted wire. That is what caused it to go from a simple shorted wire in to a fire that I had to use a fire extinguisher on. After the wire shorted, the PSU definitely should have kick off. A few years back, I a voltage regulator blow and my Corsair PSU turned off immediately. The MB was obviously dead and the were some burn marks around the voltage regulator, but that was it. There was no fire and if I was not around at the time, the house would not have burned down. The Corsair PSU even still worked after that and I am still using it to this day.
Overall Review: If Jimmy was not around went his PC caught on fire, we could have lost the house. This PSU need better fuses that blow when they should.
Too small
Pros: It is a somewhat functional paper weight.
Cons: This is the smallest "full sized case" I have ever seen. I have bought a couple of the cheap $20 DIY mid-sized cases before and they where pretty good for what they where. This case is the same as those mid size case with a two holes cut in the top for two 120mm fans and maybe an inch longer. For something that costs 4 times more I expect more then that. This case is way too small. There is just enough room for the PSU and a normal ATX MB. There is no clearance on the top between the MB and the top of the case. I tried to sick a 120x240 mm water cooler on top, but there was not enough room for it. I have built lots of PCs before with the water cooler before and this is the only "full sized case" with two 120mm fans on top that I could not sick the water cooler in it. I had to cut the bottom front plastic and the bottom of the 5 in drive bay to fit the water cooler on it. For the amount of work I put into this case I could have bought a mid size case and saved a bunch of cash.
Overall Review: If I knew how small this case is, I would have just spent the extra $20 and bought any other full size case.
DOA
Pros: Makes a good paper weight.
Cons: The first SSD would not show up in any bois, so I sent it back to Newegg for a replacement. According to Newegg the SATA connector was cracked. When the second one came, it appeared to be in working order. So, I installed Windows 7 and everything was working fine. Then the next day the computer started crashing and I got S.M.A.R.T. errors form the drive. I tried DBANing the drive, but it did not help. I ended up sending that drive back for refund.
Overall Review: This was the first time I bought something made by Mushkin. One DOA is forgivable, but two in a row is unacceptable. I will not be ordering anything else made by Mushkin anytime soon.
