Solid, worked right away
Pros: Stable, Fast, and worked right away... I simply installed it and the mobo detected it and ran it at the rated frequency. I didn't even need to adjust any settings. But, to be safe I did adjust the voltage from the standard to 2.1v. After installation I ran Everest Ultimate, this thing gives me a read rate of 7.921 G/s and write rate of 7.34 G/s. If rebate comes through, I'd be a happy happy buyer.
Cons: Newegg slashed $15 after I bought it... seriously Newegg do you hate me? They I hate it when that happens... Perhaps a week advance notice of upcoming prices would be nice, it would build up anticipation and might help them make burst sales.
Overall Review: System build as follows: uP: Q9550 C1 Mobo: GA-EP45-DS3R Xigmatek HS128 Cooelr RAM: this one Logisys Green 650 Watt PSU I have not OC'ed it yet, will try that later today and see how well that works. I originally bought a G.Skill PC2-8000 that ram didn't perform nearly as good as this one. I mean the speed difference aside, I couldn't get it to work stable at the rated frequency on my mobo. Anyhow, at least with my mobo it was a breeze. If you own a GA-EP45 series board I strongly recommend this RAM.
Not the Kingston quality I have trusted for years
Pros: - Reasonably priced - Max out CPU memory - Performs well
Cons: Since I bought this kit it has failed on me 3 times. First one was after a few months, 1DIMM went bad. They RMA'ed it and paid return shipping as well. The replacement kit was a 1x64GB kit and one of them had a DIMM die on me yet again after just 3 months. I had to pay return shipping myself this time. The replacement was 2x32GB kit which worked well for 2 years and I had forgotten about all my troubles until 2 weeks ago. The PC randomly decided not to POST. I was ready to RMA the motherboard then realized I didn't check the RAM. Surely, 1 DIMM had died again. It doesn't matter where the DIMM is installed they will randomly fail. I have never had RAM fail on me like this before. I have started another RMA which has been approved but I have to pay return shipping on this. I suspect either the RAMs cannot handle operating in QUAD channel configuration in max capacity or that they need to be underclocked. I have since disabled XMP on the RAM, I am not taking any chances. I am so tired of these sticks failing randomly. I asked Kingston to perhaps Upgrade to a 2400MHz set that I can down clock but they refused the upgrade. I have always bought Kingston without blinking an eye. I think I will give other brands a try next time.
Good AIO decent temps on stock but nothing spectacular
Pros: When I bought this cooler back in 2016 I was hoping to Overclock my CPU i7 5930K. This cooler couldn't keep the temps below 80*C @ 4.0GHz so I just kept the CPU on stock frequency. On stock under 100% load I would see temps around 75*C and that was acceptable. Recently, the temps on idle would reach 85*C. I did request help from Corsair their technician tried to troubleshoot in the end approved an Advanced RMA.
Cons: - Pumped failed exactly after 3 years, one pipe would get hot but stay cool near the connector to the radiator. I wasted 1 month trying to troubleshoot, thermal paste after thermal paste, even using Indigo Extreme. Eventually figured out that the pump is not transferring heat efficiently to the radiator. I twisted the pipes and shoot the radiator and that allowed the cooler to work for a while but then the same non-sense. - Didn't perform as well as I had hoped, air coolers work just as well.
Overall Review: My star rating is primarily based on cooler performance and influenced a bit by the pump failure rate. Build details: Core i7 5930K (stock 3.5GHz) 64GB RAM MSI X99-A Gaming 7 MSI Gaming GTX 1070Ti
Hi performance, short life
Pros: Fast read write, great performer.
Cons: May die 6-7 months later, make sure the firmware is up-to-date.
Overall Review: This is my 2nd review since I received an RMA drive from OCZ. The first drive died/non-boot after it failed to wake up, 8 days after the warranty expired. I mentioned that in my review and OCZ Support contacted me to request technical assistance. The tech support contact generated a RMA and I received a new drive. I hope this one lasts longer and doesn't randomly die on me. I bumped up the stars as OCZ support like always was great.
Good Concept, Poor construction
Pros: Flexible configuration.
Cons: The cellphone holder's attachment to the retention rod has a design flaw. The clip's insertion is supposed to have a wedged edge whereas its a square. I was unable to attach the rod to the cellphone enclosure, it simply won't clip in.
Overall Review: Perhaps, its a bad unit that I received but at any rate, I don't recommend it.
Cool and fast
Pros: Great RAM. In my experience OCZ's RAMs are the best. I have used G.Skill and Corsair Dominator but this is simply the best. For my other system I got the OCZ Platinum and it was great. Therefore, I bought the Reaper this time. This thing has a nice Aluminum heat dissipater, not the same as you see in the picture on Newegg.
Cons: None in my experience.
Overall Review: Worked the first time I put it in. Overclocks really well but I haven't had a chance to play with it much though. I have 64-bit Vista and this thing keeps it fed, I am really waiting for the "optimized" Windows 7 though. Buy it with confidence, although I have heard that OCZ has good customer support I have yet to call them. I got these babies for $71 with the rebate its a killer deal :).
