Pros: Quiet drive and can read CDs. The packing was excellent for an OEM drive. Great value for a lightscribe DVD burner ($20 with free shipping).

Cons: It wasn't free.

Overall Review: This product came with Nero 9. New Egg at one time included software with all OEM burners but the last several I have ordered have had none. It was nice to see it included by Samsung.

ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Good price with sale and rebate, sideport memory, usb 3.0

Cons: Worst I/O shield I have ever used. Asus failed on this one. I have built with Asus's 89GX, 88td-m, 88td, and they have a better I/O design. No quick connector for case plugs (pw sw, reset sw. . .)

Overall Review: Spend a few extra $ and buy the 880 with the 850SB. I don't have any numbers but this seems to boot slower than my other PCs with newer SB. All the other hardware is the same.

Horrible Discs this time

TDK 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model 48519
TDK 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model 48519

Pros: At least half of them worked. The blue dye is kind of pretty.

Cons: Half of them would glitch near the end of the disc making playback not possible.

Overall Review: I have used these before and had really good luck. I may have gotten a bad batch, or the quality may have dropped in the last year or two.

Good for what it is.

Holmes HFH136-TG 1-Touch Desktop Heater w/ Thermostat
Holmes HFH136-TG 1-Touch Desktop Heater w/ Thermostat

Pros: This heater is small, light, and portable. It does put out a lot of heat relative to its small size. The fan is powerful and really expels the heat into the room. The fan is fairly quiet especially on the low setting. It can keep a 12x12 room warm without any problem.

Cons: The thermostat is hopelessly off. I have to set the unit to 80 degrees to keep the room at 70 degrees.

Overall Review: I have owned 2 other similar Holmes heaters and they both had more accurate thermostats. One lasted a decade and the other died in about a month. I wouldn't pay much more than $10-15 for this heater. It seems the quality controls may not be that reliable.

I don't like the changes

Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: It is an all around good case. It has great air flow and the fans are quiet.

Cons: I hate the new fan design. Is there a MB with 4 chase fan ports? I had to get some adapters for one of the fans to function. I could be wrong, but I think my old 300 had a bios speaker. I had a bent pin on my build and the lack of a bios beep code was frustrating.

Overall Review: I would use this case again, or I might try the 300 two. New Egg needs to update the pictures to show the new fan connectors.

Acer T231H bmid Black 23" Full HD HDMI Touch Screen Monitor w/Speakers 300 cd/m2 ACM 80,000:1 (1,000:1)

Pros: Kiosk mode for retail use.

Cons: Price

Overall Review: I own the Acer T231H and the HP/Compaq L2105tm touch screen monitors. I prefer the Acer hands-down. Some have said that the T231H monitor is not windows XP compatible. That is the reason I bought the HP monitor. I have tested the Acer model with the HP driver. It performs basic touch functions in Windows XP. So you can buy the Acer T231H and download a Windows XP touch driver from HP.com. The Acer T231H was not accurate out-of-the-box. I had to change the screen resolution and then it worked great. The touch feature is responsive and satisfying. The stand is solid and it does not wobble. I have only used it in kiosk mode. The HP L2105 was accurate out-of-the-box. This screen wobbles a little after each touch. It is not necessary to make contact with the monitor in order for touch to be registered. I find this feature highly annoying. I do not like to remove my finger too far from the screen when moving from place to place over the monitor. This causes multiple touch points across m
