Interoperability Issues
Pros: When it works, performance is high for both read and write. Power consumption is low.
Cons: Not compatible with the AMI APTIO firmware (BIOS/UEFI)on my Supermicro Atom mobo. Works fine from a deep power cycle. Fails 98%+ on reboot; APTIO gets confused and reorders the boot sequence. After months of struggling with this SSD and attempting many work-arounds, I was able to see that APTIO was barfing on unrecognized SMART codes from the SSD. Since I am an end-user and do not have an AMI dev license, I did not pursue the faults any further. I swapped the Sandisk Extreme Pro out for an Intel S3500. All problems immediately solved.
Overall Review: The Sandisk Extreme Pro might be an excellent drive if you know that your mobo is interoperable. For me, it was a waste of time and money.
