ARC1210 failed

Pros: Areca makes excellent products. I have been using their cards for some time.
Cons: Normally none, but I hade a new card fail with a SDRAM error after just 30 hours. I had a spare which brought the system back.
Overall Review: I'm anxious to see how whey handle their warranty.
Slow!!

Pros: Small, USB
Cons: Connected to a Windows 8.1 x64 Lenovo Carbon, USB 3.0. tested read speed is 0.6 MB / Sec. Ugh! Drive is rated at 24X, which should be > 4 MB / Sec. Tired their firmware updater, which installed, but does nothing when I run it.
Jumping Jehosafat!!

Pros: Quiet, works great, nicely engineered to clear ram, etc. Even overclocking and stress testing my I7 six core at 4.5GHz, it's quiet and kept the processor cool.
Cons: It's huge. I mean, check the dimensions! I have a 4U case and either I need a different case or hood scoop!
Overall Review: I cannot hear it run, pretty sure I could remove fan #2, but it fits and helps other components stay cool
Fan noise

Pros: Works, reasonably low cost
Cons: Noisy! You can hear the PWM, sounds like a grinding or buzzing sound. And it is constantly changing speed, thus the pitch changes too. Would be nice to just hear the air flow. I had to purchase a different model.
Problems driving 4K

Pros: Quiet, has DP & HDMI outputs
Cons: Connected to a Lenovo 2840m 4K display. Using a Lenovo 21Gbps certified DP cable. Image jitters/tears at 60 FPS. 30 FPS works. Hart to know if the problem is the card or the display.
great PC

Pros: Great upgrade fropm an ol' P4 for our accountant.
Cons: none
