Does this item include the dvi cable or is it bought seperately?

Are you referring to the cable used to plug into the monitor or the DVI to VGA adapter?

Most cards, including this one, do not come with the DVI cable.  The DVI cable is included with the monitor purchase, not graphics card purchase.

Are the fans working properly and are they making lots of noise?

I purchased two of these cards about 6-8 months ago, arranged in crossfire for a gaming/home theater pc and i have yet to experience any issues with overheating. Renders graphics smoothly on highest settings. I haven't even bothered to install the extra two case fans i purchased. Very quiet as well. Don't notice it at all while watching movies and tv. The only issue i had was with spacing of pciex slots on my mobo.... The thickness of this card could be an issue if you have a smaller form mobo.

Will a 750W work well?

I'm currently using a 600w power supply and have had no issues running a single card. I'm not sure about dual cards however. 750w should be good for this card

Will a 3.0 card work in a pcie 2.0 slot?

This card will work in a 2.0 slot. Most devices that say 3.0 are backwards compatible. Do note that there will be less power available through a 2.0 slot. Unless you overclock, this should not hinder its performance in any way.

I was wondering if my computer is compatible with this graphics card because the gt640 has a lot of lag while playing games?

It would be a substantial upgrade from the 640.  In most benchmarks, it does roughly double the fps, maybe more.  I play everything at max settings (45+ fps) with this card, 8GB RAM, and AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black CPU.

Does this work with Windows 8 I need to know?

Yes, I  can say with 100% first hand experience, this card works with windows 8.1. Drivers, amd software, everything, works perfect. Plus its a great mid range card. Plus with mantle software upgrade, battlefield 4 now will be even better.

Will I be able to run this with a 500W power supply?

Accepted Answer

Depending on your processor power consumption yes... A 450 would be fine for this card.. unless you are really into overclocking your hardware. :)

Question 8

Has anyone had any success with the rebate on this item? The form says to cut out and use the shipping label on the form and that rebates without the label may not be processed. I just printed it on regular paper, kinda concerned about how to affix the label on an envelope. Don't want it to fall off etc.

Hi!  I've successfully sent it in twice now with the label (printed out on regular printer paper and cut out with scissors) just taped right on there.  I think one time I used scotch tape and the other time just plain shipping tape.

They'll let you know in a few days when they receive it, so if you don't hear anything from them you might have a problem.. But you should be ok.

(it can take forever to actually get the rebate card though)

Will this card work in a pci-e 2.0 slot?

PCI-E 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCI-E 2.0 slots, however, the speed will be PCI-E 2.0 speeds, not 3.0 speeds.

I personally am using this card in a GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 Motherboard.

how is the fan level , is it silent r noisy?

Fan level is silent.  You're more likely to hear a CPU or Case fan than any noise from this video card.  I had to pull open the case and stick my head very close to card to even notice it.  I am not over-clocking it (no real need).  I've been very happy with it.
