Pros: It sure isnt the price.
8-gig memory buff
5.2 TFLOPS single / 2 TFLOPS double precision floating point unit
Cons: The freakin price.
I shouldnt complain seeeing as we subed these in to replace fire pro W9100, and inturn held onto 12k.
Other Thoughts: After reviewing another review for Sapphire 290x with 8 gig mem buffer, I was pleased to confirm that AMD workstation cards are using the same binning as the rest of the offerings.
4 of these will offer a 32 gig memory storage bin for computational Finance modeling, wont be worrying about number crunching hardwear for a year or two. LOL
Pros: With the 8GB memory, this card has given the Fire Pro W9100 a run for the money.
4 of these have earned their place on a X10 DRG-Q supermicro work station 7048GR-TR super server
while still having room for 3- PCI-E x8 SSD internals.
NAS RAID 5 X2 of the 612/ thunderbolt 2.0
Packing 2- 10 core Xeon 2687W V3 160 WATT CPU with cluster on die Cap. Parallel processing work horse has shaved 75% of the usual times.
Algos run time has been halved
Cons: I got a beef with every overpriced piec of hardwear out there.
I have chosen 4- of these 500 buck Graphic cards to replace an old set of Fire Pro W9000, We were tempted to jump ship and go green But didnt and replaced the lot for 2300.00 not the 14,000.00 we had aloted for the project.
as for the 16 gig mem buffer of the W9100, well sorry to tell you but band width will limit use and max we have been able to take advantage of at complete saturation was claimed at 30 gig
Pros: streaming processors will abound with 4 of these rather than W9100
Cons: price is still the issue
Other Thoughts: If I can buy the same hardwear for an 1/8th the price, shame on themREAD FULL REVIEW
