I have a drive with data already on it , can I use it in this to use the data already on the drive?

Yes. You can use this enclosure with drives that have data on them. You may need to add a drive letter in disk management if it doesn't detect. How large is your drive? I have used this enclosure just fine so far with drives up to 3TB. It is supposed to handle drives up to 6TB.

Does it come with any cables?

Yes. It comes with an AC power adapter and a USB 3.0 cable.

will this work with windows 10?

It works with any OS. I just looks like a USB drive to your computer.

WIll this work with a Seagate Baracuda ST8000DM004 8TB Internal Hard Drive 3.5" SATA 6GB/s 256MB Cache?

Yes. Will handle 8 TB. Works well, but not too fond of the cover. Is not very tight and solid when installed. Could be I just received a loose unit. For the price though, it's not a bad buy compared to others.

What do the red/blue flashing lights mean on the back?

Not sure about the red as I've never seen a red light on mine but the blue indicates power status. It also flashes when data is moving to and from the drive giving you an indicator showing you it's actually doing something.. :)

The description of the unit scrolling down the page show this as the latest model 3588US3-V1 but the specs are that of older version 35883US3. Which is the unit that is being supplied? The newer model 3588US3-V1 or the older model?

I ordered two of them in May and both were 3588US3-V1. They work great for me.
