Question 1

Everyone keeps saying it has asking if it has 3 button. I understand it has a lef/right button, but I am confused is the third. Does the one on the side act as an ACTUAL middle mouse button like most mouses have or is it strictly only for scrolling?? I can't have a button on it that act like a middle mouse button then this mouse would be totally useless to me. Thanks in advance.

The left/right buttons are positioned at the top of the mouse’s shaft and work just like regular mouse buttons, except that I operate them with my thumb.  The third button is along the shaft and is operated with my second and/or third finger in a gripping fashion.  Until you asked this question, I’ve never used the third button and have never even accidentally clicked it.  When I do, it scrolls by default.  Let me know if you want me to try configuring it to do something else.

How many control buttons (functions) does it have ?  
ie Left click, Right click, Scroll, extra function buttons.

3 buttons: left and right on the top, and the side button is mapped to middle button. Scroll is done by holding the side button and moving the mouse, which works very well and I prefer to a mouse wheel. The scroll works out of the box on windows, requires some config in Linux.
