Rubber sleeves and plastic shells are the most popular types of cases. A sleeve is convenient as it protects your phone from damage without adding much bulk. Additionally, the durable material can absorb most shocks so you don't have to worry about your smartphone being jostled in the event of an accident. Rigid shells provide similar protection but have the added benefit of adding some weight to slim phones that feel too light.

Armbands and holsters are popular alternatives to sleeves and shells. It can be more convenient to have a protective cover that holds your phone, so you don't to carry it in your pocket or bag.
