What's the maximum SSD size supported by this case? 4TB? What about the newer 8tb samsung models?

My specific drive seems to have a JMS578 chipset inside (the print is so tiny that I originally thought it was JM8578!), but I have not tried it with a 4TB or 8 TB drive. Perhap this clue will help you determine compatibility.

Does the USB cable come in the product box ?

yes. Cable with blue connector was included when I bought about a year+ ago. As you know, you need the right cable, port, device to get the higher speed of USB 3.0.

The max drive thickness is not listed. Will this enclosure accept a 12.5mm thick drive? Thanks.

Compared, The EC-UK30 is just about the exact same thickness as the NST-228S3-BK, which supports 7mm or 9.5mm 2.5 inch SSD/HDD. I guess the answer to your question would be, no.
