is it compatible with a duo core 2 ?

It depends on the motherboard, but most motherboards that run a Core 2 Duo do not support DDR3.  You'd have to find out what chipset your motherboard is to know for sure.  If it's Intel P43, P45, X38, or X48, or Nvidia 750i SLI, 790i, or 790 Ultra it will work with this RAM, otherwise it would not be compatible.

Is this RAM compatible with the ASRock G41C-GS motherboard I purchased from New Egg?

I had to do a search on Google to find their website memory compatibility with certain boards, you can easily do a search to see that it is or isn't compatible with that board.

In my opinion most memory is compatible with all boards if not you can always return it/exchange for a different brand/type.

I installed one 4 gb stick of this indentical memory in 2 different motherboards a GIGABYTE GA-G41MT-S2PT and a ASROCK g41c-gs and neither board would post .I assume I made a poor choice in memory matching or I got a defective stick. I don't know what to make of it??

Robert, have you checked the specs for each board and are they compatible with the ram. I bought this ram about a year ago and it has worked fine for me. I would look at each board first to see if there are defective slots or maybe a bios update might help. If all of these things are okay then I would return the ram for another brand. Hope this helps. Checked the product page, and my motherboard isn't listed. As such, I feel I should be absolutely certain: Will this run in a Gigabyte GA-78lmt-s2 (Rev.1.2) motherboard? All the specs seem to fit, but I have to be certain there's not going to be any compatibility issues.

Have you checked the motherboard's compatability list? It looks like you checked the RAM's list.

That said, if all the specs match, I'm sure you'll be fine. If you need absolute certainty, though, you'll want to buy from the motherboard manufacturer's recommended list.

In the specs it says, "Compatible with Intel LGA1155/LGA1156." It doesn't list LGA775, but there's no reason it should be compatible with it (so long as the motherboard supports 1066 and it matches the FSB) right? Thanks!

Be careful. Go to the manufacturer's website and look at the technical specs. They usually list recommended or qualified vendors. Choose one of them and then find a compatible product. It's much "safer" and less expensive in the long run as I've found out the hard way. Good luck.

Is this memory compatible with ASUS RAMPAGE II EXTREME?  If so are there any timing/voltage change needed in the bios to get it working properly?

I don’t have an Asus Rampage mother board but this memory was not compatible with my Gigabyte G41MT-S2PT mother board. It did work on my Bio Star T5XE CFX-SLI /LGA 1156.
The vendor replaced it with (at the time) cheaper memory that has worked for years.

Would this be compatible with an ASUS M4A77TD motherboard? I'm trying to upgrade and a bit worried.

Yes this RAM is compatible with the Motherboard.  It supports the following speeds... This RAM is DDR3 1066 so it will work just fine.
DDR3 1800(O.C.)
DDR3 1600(O.C.)
DDR3 1333(O.C.)
DDR3 1066

Will this work in my Dell Optiplex 980(2010)?I need to upgrade to 8 GB,and this looks good.I tried some GSKILL AEGIS,but it wouldn't work,but I think it was 1333.

I really have no idea. Since I built my system, I looked in the motherboard's RAM allowable brands and types. I suggest you take a look at your instruction booklet and find out, chances are you find nothing. These brand name machines are lousy, that is why I make my own. Call Dell and ask them which RAM can you install and if that motherboard has the capacity to accept 8Gb.
