Updating the BIOS is straightforward: simply save the BIOS file to a USB drive, enter the BIOS menu, and flash the update directly from the file. There is a dedicated option for this, and the BIOS includes a helpful search feature to make finding specific settings easy.

Can I use this motherboard for media transcoding and storage?

Absolutely. The Z890-CREATOR WIFI is great for that. You get five M.2 NVMe slots (one PCIe 5.0 and four PCIe 4.0), four SATA 6Gb/s ports, and RAID 0/1/5/10 support through Intel RST. You have two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, but if you populate both, you will need to set bifurcation in the BIOS, which splits the lanes to x8/x8 instead of a single x16. This is still plenty of bandwidth for most GPUs, but it’s worth noting. Networking is covered with a Marvell 10G and an Intel 2.5G dual LAN setup plus Wi-Fi 7.
