will this run on a 250w power supply?

Accepted Answer

No.  According to the requirements on the box, you need a 300 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 20 Amp on the +12 volt rail.  I upped my power supply to a 550 Watt supply.  Additional requirements follow:

PCI Express, PCI Express 2.0 or PCI Express 3.0 compliant motherboard with one graphics slot.
Windows 10 32/64bit, Windows 8 32/64bit, Windows 7 32/64bit, Windows Vista 32/64bit, Windows XP 32/64bit

Question 2

Will this support 3 monitors running simultaneously?

It will definitely support 2 at the same time, but I'm not sure about 3, because the third port is S-video, and I've never had a monitor where S-video was the preferred input -- so I have no way to test it.

Also, this is a lower-end graphics card.  Although it has plenty of resolution, its GPU is unlikely to be fast enough for some kinds of high-rate, high-resolution graphics on multiple monitors.

This card does what it claims to do, including operating silently without consuming a lot of power (there's no fan).  It would be hard to find a better card for the PCIe Gen 2 bus.

It says low profile, but does it come with the small plate to put in SFF?  Does anyone know Power Requirements?

There's a second low-profile plate for use with the VGA port.  The VGA port is connected by a ribbon cable, so moving it to the second low-profile plate is a matter of removing and replacing two hex screws.  All the components you need are included.

will this support ASUS P5G41T-m motherboard and 3 display monitors?

No problem with the P5G41T mobo, but you will only control 2 monitors (one with DVI, and one with VGA). However, the motherboard has a graphics port (VGA). You may be able to exploit that simultaneously to support a third monitor. I do not see why not. If the BIOS automatically defeats the onboard graphics when it detects the video card, you may be able to enable it manually in the BIOS.

No, this graphics adapter goes into an available PCI slot on the motherboard of a tower or desktop, your Ideapad is a notebook and the typical notebook or laptop cannot change the video adapter as it is part of the motherboard. The standard video chipset for laptops is the mobile version "M".
