The SYBA SY-PEX40039 add-on card instantly adds two extra SATA ports to any desktop with an available PCIe slot. It complies with SATA III 6Gbps standard, and supports Native Command Queue (NCQ) to make the most of the latest HDD and SSD. The PCIe 2.0 x1 host interface provides up to 5Gbps bus speed to match the performance of your high speed drive. Plus, this card is bootable, thus you can use it with your main SSD loaded with OS and secondary HDD with massive storage capacity.
Note:

Pros:
Plug and play. No drivers for W7. I assume the same for W10.
Comes with SATA cable and short mounting plate for slim computer installation.
Solid and tight connection ports.
Cons: No real cons really.
Other Thoughts:
It will add 3 seconds to boot time with an on-screen dialog but you can push any button to bypass.
The SATA ports are in-line facing to the computer front, not perpendicular. So when installing, connect the cable(s) first, then install the card, otherwise it's a cumbersome pain to try to get the SATA cables connected to the tight SATA ports if this card in sandwiched in between two cards or a card and the base of the computer.
Otherwise, this is actually a decent card for the price. You will not get maximum speeds that you expect but close enough. My computer has a SATA 2 ports to compare an SSD on. My SSD went from 280MB/s to 400MB/s after the install using CrystalDiskMark.
Pros: Works great
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Bought it to revamp my ECS BLACK SERIES A780GM-A that I purchased new in 2009 and have been using since then.
Pros: on Asus 970 amd3 motherboard it works fine. really well actually. on Gigabyte x99 board is works on only one pci lane. but does not show up on others. going to support website did not help this problem . the Asus board worked so well i even used it for hot swap bays.
Cons: did not work on msi z270 board. no matter what.
Other Thoughts: this is pretty good but remember that it is not seen by all motherboards. but it works great on others
Pros: Detected without the need for the cd.
Cons: Boot up is now slightly slower since it has to initialize before the bios.
Other Thoughts: Needed it to be able to install a sata nvme ssd without removing the hdd that shared it's port, so I had to purchase a pcie sata port for the extra ports. I followed one of the reviewer's tips about installing it first without any drives and booting windows with it. I then moved the hdd to this card after reboot and everything worked fine. Windows didn't even bother changing it's drive letter. Both the sata nvme and the previous hdd work just fine.
Pros:
-Had a cable and two back plates.
-New transfers are now 406/mb compared to SATA 2 on motherboard of 250/mb
-Super cheap and still an extra port if later on I want to add another hard drive
-Works as a boot drive (no reinstall needed)
-Worked without the install disk
Cons:
-CD is for a lot of different programs you have to find the one that is for your software
-adds a about 2 sec to boot time for the adapter program
Other Thoughts:
I would recomend this to others.
My system is a dell precision t3500 with windows 8, sansumg ssd hard drive.
Pros: Inexpensive card
Cons:
My system would not boot if there were drives attached to the card, as has been reported. Specifically, after the OS would start to load up (post-GRUB/bootloader), the system would reboot after a few seconds. This happened with a live USB GParted as well as the Debian installation I had on a motherboard-SATA drive.
I've noticed another reviewer mentioned their motherboard, the AM1B-ITX. I'm using this one as well, which should be noted has its own ASMedia 1061 chipset (slightly older firmware, I think) in the motherboard to support 4 ports instead of the conventional 2 that these value-boards tend to provide.
Other Thoughts: If you buy this card, it seems like you'll have better luck with a newer board but there may be a redundancy problem if your board has the 1061 already built-in.
Pros: Bootable SATA, works with great with my Mac Pro 2012 and samsung evo SSD.
Cons:
Only two ports
Mac Pro glitch makes sleeping iffy
Other Thoughts: Can't beat the price

Pros: Small and cheap, latest Win10 drivers available for Asmedia 106x chip-set from Syba.
Cons: SATA ports are seen in Win 10 with generic drivers, and Asmedia drivers.
SSD attached to SATA ports on card are not visible form Dell T7500, A16 Bios, Win10 Pro, as a result could not boot Win10 from SSD. Tried to install drivers with repair disk, Win10 repair cant find SSD. Title of post is directly from Syba website.
Going to try Syba SI-PEX40062 which has a Marvell chip-set, and Syba says is boot able.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this card it works as advertised and is extremely cheap. Just didn't work in my application, and Newegg's description could be more accurate.
