Yep you can install you're own GPU, it doesnt have an integrated video card built in so it's meant for adding your own.

Will the i-9 9900KF work on this?

Yes, but you can't overclock with this board. The max RAM you can run is also 2666mhz which is midtier by today's standards. If you are into RGB control via a motherboard header, this has a single 4pin header which is also very limited. Not a lot of options for MATX boards at the moment. Overall its a decent board. I'm currently running this board.

I'm considering switching to the MSI MPG Z390M which allows overclocking, supports faster RAM, and has more options for RGB add ons.

what storage does it support?

You really need to install SSD (solid state drive) for best performance. It holds M.2 type up to 2280 length. The specs page lists all compatible types, but if you're looking to see what has worked, I installed WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB PC SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s M.2 2280 Solid State Drive - WDS100T2B0B for my main drive, then I installed Intel Optane M.2 2280 32GB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x2 Memory Module MEMPEK1W032GAXT to accelerate the SSD to 32GB/sec. Then I installed WL 2TB (2 Terabyte) 64MB Cache 7200RPM SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Internal Desktop 3.5" Hard Drive for backup storage.

There's a jumper that you can bridge.  You can find the location by looking at the manual. Or you can remove the button cell battery for 5 seconds before reinserting it.

Hi. This motherboard (by looking at the Specifications) should be able to support any 8th gen or above processor. Also, it must be an LGA 1151 processor. I have found one that matches this processor in case you cannot find one, however, this question answering platform will not allow links, and it thinks I put in a phone number.
