How would you go about replacing the 2 front fans?

The front panel pops off and you just undo the 8 screws holding the fans on (4 per fan). I replaced the OE fans with a Deepcool Captain 240ex rad and fans and added a Corsair AF120.

Is there a fix for the LEDs going out?

Holding down the LED button toggles them off or on.

Can optical drives be installed? It appears there are slots on the chassis, but not the front panel.

You could but you would have to get a different front panel to be able to use them. From what I can tell is that they use one chassis for multiple products but have differ panels and front plates on them.

How many fans can I install in the case? It says I can add 2 to the top of the case but I don't see any hole cut outs.

That is not the case. You can put one fan in the back (included and LED), three in the front (2 included, not lighted), and one horizontally at the top front of the lower chamber (the power supply resides at the rear of this area). I easily put 3 LED fans in the front of this case.
