what cooling options did you go with for this board?

We use a standard CPU Fan. The case and MOBO are so small unless your running an extreme set up a standard CPU and Case Fan will work fine.

Will this work with an i5 9600K?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but you need a Z series motherboard to support the unlocked multiplier of the K series processor.

does the board support NVMe?

Accepted Answer

Yes it does M.2 2280.One on the front , one on the back.Make sure you study the manual to find out which SATA ports might not be available when connecting NVM.It is a very nice board.

If I plug a chassis fan into the AIO_PUMP connector, can the fan RPM be controlled like a chassis fan connector or will the fan run at maximum RPM?

Yes somewhat, however the settings on the bios isn't the same as the chassis Q-fan settings, it'll be the AIO-pump settings. Also, if its 3-pin fan header it'll run in DC mode, as oppose to a 4-pin header in PWM.

what tower are you using ? How does the gamers gardian fit in it?

I use the Cougar QBX Mini-ITX. it fits. I only have an RX 560 in there but it could probably fit a bigger card as long as you can manage your cables properly.

Thinking of getting this for a i5-9400F but not sure if the bios will support it. Does anyone know what version of bios is shipping with the board?

Can this motherboard boot to OS from an M2 NVMe SSD?

Yes. I'd only install the NVMe drive that you want to install windows on, then add your other drives after you have windows installed.  I used a Samsung EVO 970 3.0 X 4 NVMe in the front slot under the heat sink.  Windows found the drive without changing anything in the BIOS.

I had a  NAS system that a Gigbyte motherboard died on. I bought an MSI board to replace it. But it won't load any distro of Linux. Apparently there's a compatibility issue. So before I buy a third mb for this system I want to make sure I'm getting the right board. So is the ROG STRIX B360-1 compatible with Red Hat Linux? Any problems encountered when installing it?
