Does the board light up? if so what color are the LED's?

A small strip of the board lights up. Its kind of a halloween orange color. I had no idea until I plugged it in. Just so happens that my fans and case have orange highlights so it worked out... this time.

Question 2

Will this mobo power up outside of the case with just PSU, RAM, CPU, and CPU fan plugged in? I was testing my build last night before putting it in the case, had the 24pin/8pin connectors in and the CPU fan plugged in and I couldn't get it to come on (PSU fan and CPU fan weren't spinning, no reaction from the board or PSU). Are there other steps I needed to take?

Hey brother,

Yup it should power on with just those things connected. When it powers on, a very bright and very obvious orange LED will turn on on the motherboard.

First step would be to ensure all of the parts you are using are compatible with each other. This is especially important if you are using parts from an older computer as part of an upgrade.

Next would be to ensure the PSU is plugged in an the killswitch on the back of it is set to the ON position when trying to boot.

Install the CPU, being extra careful not to shock it or the mobo with static. Also make sure that the plastic cover gets removed and no pins are bent during installation.

Install only 1 stick of compatible RAM in the first slot.

Lastly, install the power connectors and power switch, making extra sure to connect the power switch to the correct connector using the tool provided in the box. You do not need any other devices to reach post.

When you hit the juice the orange LED for the mobo should come on indicating that it is working.

Can you connect to wifi with this motherboard? Or do you need a wireless network adaptor?

No, the motherboard has no native wifi support. You will need an adapter.

How do you put Dual channels Ram for this thing?

It is stated in page 9 & 10 of the manual. Basically, install two of the same sticks of ram in the same color slots (1&3 or 2&4) and the BIOS will automatically configure dual channel memory

Does this work with DDR2 RAM?

Accepted Answer

No. It is only compatible with Skylake (6th-gen) or Kabylake (7th-gen) Intel processors, neither of which are compatible with ddr2. Skylake supports ddr3 or ddr4 Kabylake supports only ddr4.

Hello, I'm trying to set up a mine and when I go to upload Windows 10 Pro to the miner I get a message that says "No signed device drivers were found.  Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers then hit ok."  Is there any advice you can give me?  I have been reading on the forums that this could be due to a SATA driver being not updated or directed to a raid type setup?   I'm also looking into the possibility the Windows Download from Microsoft was corrupted?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Hey there Greg, I'd need a little more info.

Are you setting up a Raid? Or have two HDD's? I've seen Gigabyte mother boards (2 of hundreds I've installed) do this because it was stuck in a RAID mode that was tripped.

How are you installing Windows? Via USB or DVD? I would suggest trying both if you can. I've also seen this problem fixed by, when you get the error clicking okay, switching the USB port your media is on, clicking the red x, saying yes to canceling,  and then start the install again. Idk why.

I would recommend removing the battery and resetting the bios, maybe it got tricked into that faulty RAID mode?

If the Microsoft Windows media is corrupt you can try to download a newer image and make a bootable with Rufus.

Does the GPU support a displayport plugin?

I'm not sure what that means. It has HDMI and video card expansion but this board has several versions. This is the cheaper version feature wise. I consider this a client workstation board, not a gaming board or media center. I would move up to about $150 for that. This board is very reliable and fast when paired with a nice SSD and 16GB DDR4 but it is the minimum level for Autocad type work in my view.

Question 10

Would it be a bad idea to plug 3 graphic cards directly on this motherboard since it has the slots to support it and knowing I have very good airflow? It's for mining...

If it was for gaming, I would say no. Only one PCI-e slot is full speed (16x) but that shouldn't affect mining performance.
