Question 1

I bought this card, and I went to plug it into my motherboard just to find that the pcie connection was flip flopped, I tried plugging it in upside down and others. But the ports were situated inside of the case not on the side where the ports should be?

Sounds like you're trying to plug the card into a PCI slot rather than a PCIe slot.  Don't do that.  If you manage to jam it in there somehow and then put power to it, you're likely fry everything including the card.  You need a motherboard with a full length PCIe slot, which will likely mean getting a new cpu/ram too..You're best bet may be a barebones system minus a video card (motherboard/ram/cpu/SSD/PSU) which newegg sells tons of. Anyone else having fans spin up to 100% randomly when the card is idle? Very loud and not sure how to fix it

Not very helpful I know but unless I'm playing a game and the card is under load I rarely here the fans spin up.

almost 10 inches.  it seems to be running 1147 base with a boost of 1270, contrary to tomshardware or multiple other sites of seen you will not be able to max out 1080p (rise of the tomb raider for instance) with this card on all the settings, but is still a good card.

What's The recommend amount of power and minimum?

500w would be more than enough. I had this in my rig for testing....at idle I draw around 75-90w. Under stress(Firestrike Stress Test), the max I saw was around 325w(System). The card maxed out at 140.6w.

How many monitors can this card drive simultaneously?   What combination of outputs can be used together?

my understanding is a max of 6 can be driven. and to drive some of those you must have a displayport 1.2(or 1.1 min) to whatever(dvi-d,vga or hdmi) adapter. as for monitors anything can be used as long as you have the adapter and a MST HUB (a two port hub must be bought for the use of 6). amd has not release a statement or a f.a.q for polaris as to how many to my knowlegde(i have a feeling it might be more. based the true audio interface having 6 sound ports and our card having one dvi-d(dvi-d does not carrying audio).) all the ports can be used, i haven't read a limitation as of yet and i haven't ran into any problems since i got mine.

I see reviews saying to increase power draw by 50, should you do this if your not overclocking?
