good

Pros: Fast, very fast. Not a single game struggles in my new PC build with this card, huge step up from a 5770. Amazing price while it was available.

Cons: Bit big, just barely got it in. 2 power connectors is a bit much it barely uses that much.

Other Thoughts: Would totally recommend this card for the $209 it was at, great deal.

Update #2 - Rock Solid

Pros: Price- 169.99 after rebate just amazing
Performance
Heat..or lack of stays under 60c under full load

Cons: Fan noise past 65% rather annoying, oh well, go liquid and xfx will still cover warranty over the card. How cool is that

Other Thoughts: Seriously this card is amazing. So happy I choose to purchase this unit. For all of you who like to use msi afterburner, or other oc software, I just came across Saphires Trixx, it is soo amazing, no need to edit cfg files like afterburner.

You can oc way past 900 and 1300 at your own risk mind you.
Voltage control no problem either

Metro 2033 high settings over 100fps
Counter strike source over 400fps
BadCompany 2 High settings over 100fps - no joke

Excellent boards for Crossfire

Pros: Very fast, good driver support, good heat extraction.

Cons: Power hog. Make sure your PSU can supply 4 6-pin rails.

Very long. At least a mid tower case. If your 3.5 bays run front-back then you may not be able to put an HD in front of these, and I wouldn't recommend it for airlfow.

Other Thoughts: Running two of these Crossfire, I have not seen a game yet that I cannot run on maximum.

Sweet Jamima, it's fast!

Pros: I max my graphics on everything I've played so far using this and haven't noticed any lag or any kind. I haven't bothered actually measuring fps, but I don't think I've needed to. I've noticed no dipping, clipping, or slipping graphically, even in more intensive games.

Cons: The first card I got was defective; I would get into Windows only to frequently see a "blink effect" as if either the card wasn't seated properly or the monitor cable wasn't completely plugged in. I finally figured out it was the card.

Other Thoughts: HOWEVER, the defective copy wasn't *exactly* a con, since they were extremely easy to deal with in getting an RMA and even sent me ANOTHER copy of AVP with the replacement! What a fantastic company with a great product! Will almost certainly buy from them again!

Incompatable with my Motherboard

Pros: If it was able to work in my system I might have good things to say but it doesn't.

Cons: This thing was incompatable with my motherboard. I did trouble shooting with XFX and ASUS for a little over a week and never got it going. I tested the card in a buddies setup and it works fine. XFX was no help they would just keep blaming my PSU. My psu has (4)12v rails at 20amp's a piece. More the enough. Funny thing is I have a 5830 that runs perfectly on my mobo. Asus M3N78-pro. Asus was helpful but at the end couldn't get there engineers to take the time and figure out anything for me. I had the Lastest bios for my motherboard and the lastest bios for the video card. The motherboard simply wouldn't detect that the card was in the PCIe slot. Fan would spin up instantly to 100% and the motherboard wouldn't detect it. Seems to be a lot of problems online for people with all kinds of different mobos that can't get this card to work but no solutions. I'm just glad the 5830 works so well.

Other Thoughts: I've heard a lot of good things about the 5870 with people who can get it to work but I am not one of them.

55% idle fan Fixed, Yay :)

Pros: I have decided to redo my review and give this card 5 eggs. Originally I was having an issue with an overly aggressive default fan profile at a constant 55% fan at idle. Flashed with new bios and now 30% or less fan at idle and max 38 degrees idle temp on warm September night. Still get 115 fps in A V P without v sync enabled and 38-60 fps crisis warhead(great), but a peculiar dip below 60 fps in fallout 3 at times while maxed.

Cons: Don't know why Fallout 3 dips below 60 fps at times. Max is 98 fps but dips below 60 fps while just looking around, all on ultra on 890FX-UD5 Phenom 2 965 BE. Wanted to run at least this game using v sync because I thought at least I would have plenty of headroom to see if card can really keep a constant 60 fps pinned at the capped rate, and this game should have been easily pinned at 60. It dips to 38-40 fps with v sync. Kind of weird and may be C C C 10.8 issue.

Other Thoughts: Fan Problem solved. It seems some of these cards came with an old bios that just needs to be flashed with a new one from X F X website then all is well. Just have do not disturb door tag handy, register, and look for support files and download for your card, follow instructions. Similar to flashing motherboard bios.

Wow and Hmmph

Pros: Plays everything on max with very little issue, and I'm talking about very demanding games too, like Batman, AVP(Dx11), and Crysis Warhead 38-60fps+. Can get AVP up to 115fps without V-Sync and steady 60fps with on.

Cons: Very loud, at least mine is. I'm not sure why, but mine came with a very aggressive fan profile. I have a Thermaltake Armor Plus case, and it seems Catalyst always wants to run the fan at 55% period. I tried setting it at 20% and the temp just rises. Was able to get stable idle cooling at a much quieter 40% manual fan(38 deg) but have to remember to disengage manual when gaming, but come on, somethings wrong if that's the best the cooler will do. Maybe I will need to add fans at the bottom to cool the gpu better. Card only gets as cool as 38 degrees and maybe 32 if air conditioner is on. Have frame rate drop below 60fps in Fallout 3 maxed. Fallout 3?? This game isn't the most demanding, but gets below 60fps even with vsync off compared to most of my other more demanding games. Hmmmph!

Other Thoughts: Not sure why others with the same case as mine report 28% idle temp and quiet fan profile without any extra fans than included, but I beg to differ. Maybe it's my case airflow but still my card shouldn't stay locked at 55%. On a good note, never goes above 68 degrees when gaming maxed in Dx11 games and averages in 80% of my games around 50-55 degrees.
