Can you run this card in SLI mode?

It can be run in software SLI, but it does not have hardware SLI connectors. With the GeForce 10 series, nVidia has stated that you'd be better off buying one 1070 or 1080 than two 1060s in SLI.

Question 2

What's the main difference between the single fan and the dual fan versions? If performance is the same I would assume the single fan compact version has to work harder to keep the card cool.

Cooler card with the 2 fans.  Cooler GPU temps mean better performance and no throttling.  A hot GPU will throttle and slow down...better to get the dual fan.  I have it and it outperforms my EVGA 980 SC.

how does this perform for gaming?

Generally,  this is a good gaming card for most games at 1080.  Beyond that resolution it will likely boy down.  I use it for Fallout 4 @1080 with all maxed settings.  It is very smooth.  As usual, though your mileage may very, depending on which games you play.

It compares with a GTX 980 in frame rate with about 1/2 the power draw.

What are the idle and gaming temps?

Mine idles around 35C and it maxes out around 65C without changing any settings. I have a smaller mid-tower case with 2 fans.

Yes, I am currently using it in an Asrock z270m Extreme matx motherboard with no difficulties or problems.  Note that you will need to have a power connector to it from your power supply, (6 pin, I believe) to provide sufficient power to run.

You said "video editing" - this automatically means "stuff as much RAM into the machine as it can hold." I also make gameplay videos and I can fill up 16GB pretty quickly when working with 1080p60 clips. Go with AT LEAST 16GB, more if your budget allows.

Also, since you mentioned editing, I would recommend a higher-performance hard drive than WD's Blue series, which are consumer-grade drives really meant more for "typical desktop user" level performance. I purchased a 4GB WD Gold RE enterprise-rated drive for my editing work, as it is designed to handle the multiple-gigabytes-at-a-time workload typical of video editing - it's a $200 drive, but it'll run 24/7/365 for 5+ years and can handle 550TB of throughput a year, so it should outlast the PC it's in with my workload. (A busy video editor can burn through a consumer-grade hard drive's rated lifespan in about 18 months.)

FWIW I'd also up the wattage on your power supply. The key there is overhead - a 600W PSU will run cooler and more efficiently with a 300W load than a 430W PSU will, simply because it's being underutilized compared to what it's built to handle. While this might be a waste of money to some, but I try to go for at least 50% overhead on PSU ratings, more if I can do it. (I have the same processor and video card, four hard drives, and a BD-ROM burner and am running a 775W PSU on about a 350W load, so my safety margin is over double.)

While I do not have an Alienware Graphics Amplifier, I am familiar with them, and I own this GPU. I am almost certain that it would fit. It is not a very large card at all, and is the standard 2-slot height. I don't have any reason to believe that it would not fit.

What's the recommended power supply i would need for this to be functional? currently i have a standard power supply of 500 watts. I'm currently upgrading my pc little by little

That depends on a number of things. If the power supply is highly efficient and the rest of your components are as well. You don't need near that much power. If you are using a lot of high powered components with a low end supply, then yes, you'll need it. Check out pc part picker for a good guide one what you should use.
