Powerful GPU If You Need An Upgrade

Pros: There's been a lot of negative feedback revolving the RTX series cards and much of it is validated due to a lack of titles and lack of implementation of the technology. However, if you're in need of an upgrade, these cards are still very powerful and deliver solid performance. I was in the situation where I had a GTX 1060 3GB and was patiently waiting for the next release of NVIDIA's new cards. Even though the new release was a slight disappointment, I still decided to upgrade due to needing a more powerful card to run 1440p games over 60 fps. As for this GIGABYTE RTX 2080 card, I have had no issues with it whatsoever. I've been playing some pretty graphics intense games and newer titles (Assassin's Creed Odyssey, GTA V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Black Ops IV etc) and I've easily been getting 60 fps and over on a 1440p 165 Hz display with no issues whatsoever (I have an i7-8700k and I don't overclock). The card keeps very cool with the three fans. The RGB on the GIGABYTE logo looks very nice. Overall, this is a great graphics card. I don't regret my purchase whatsoever. This will definitely last me years to come.

Cons: No fault of GIGABYTE as their card is fantastic, but RTX technology is lacking and what they have now for games takes a HUGE impact on performance. The price is also steep, but again, this is NVIDIA's doing. Only other downside is I wish the "RTX 2080" logo was RGB as well, but that's me seriously nitpicking.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this if you're in the need of an upgrade (if you're in the 1060 series, maybe 1070 series if you want more performance). If you have a GTX 1080 or GTX 1080 Ti, there really is no point in upgrading at this time.

Runs non stop 24/7 at full load without issues

Pros: It's quiet compared to my EVGA 1070. It runs primegrid.com apps often 24/7 at or near max load and hasn't crapped out yet. I've pushed it to the limit. Gamewise it runs Battlefront pretty well but haven't played to to much. CPU is a limiting factor with this card. Make sure you have a good one.

Cons: Even with 3 fans at max load is gets hot around 79-80C. It does not seems to affect performance however. I haven't had an issues with it I would consider cons. The only other con is their software is terrible and I can't get it working, but afterburner works just fine to adjust settings like voltage, clock and memory speeds, and custom fan cooling curves.

Other Thoughts: At the time of writing this I've owned this card for almost 2 months. This is a great card aside from running hot but all new CPUs and GPUs seem to be cranking out the heat now under full worse case scenario loads. I would recommend this card for sure. Just don't expect Gigabytes software to work well or at all. I use Afterburner instead and have it overclocked slightly with zero issues. I use it mainly as a number crunching card and it is FAST, beats out 1080 ti's. For games I have not had any issues with artifacts or not being able to play anything. I ran the latest Battlefront game in 4k on a 55" TV with HDR as well as Madden 19. Graphics are amazing. It does use about 100 watts more than my older GTX 1060 but performance per watt is MUCH better with this RTX 2080 card from Gigabyte. Well worth the money and right now as I'm writing this review the prices seem to be dropping on the RTX cards while the GTX 1080 and 1080 ti cards are going for much much more.

3 defective and still counting

Pros: 2 of them worked but it still had a lot of issues and when it worked it looked pretty amazing.

Cons: Even when the card worked it still had tears and lag in put when running BF5 or fallout 4 on HIGH setting with G sync on and off.

1st video card had issues with output signal. cant have 2 DP at the same time and once in a while it will crash and switch to integrated graphics.

2nd video card flickers after you play a game and crashes on a lot of different games like fallout 4, BF5, and witcher 3.

3rd DOA...... straight up DOA they just said @#$% this guy and send him a $**ing dead card.

Other Thoughts: I seriously regret getting this. I actually had to return 2 monitors too thinking it was the monitors problem but it was FU**ING GRAPHICS CARD. Do not get RTX 2080. Its piece of garbage nvidia brought out to the market.

FFXV on max settings 4k at 50+ FPS

Pros: Handled everything I've thrown at it so far. At max settings as well

Cons: This thing is definitely large. Won't fit into a small form case.

Beautiful graphics, runs great.

Pros: - I can run any game on ultra settings and I have never before seen such beautiful graphics (coming from a GTX 680).
- Card seems to run cool (45-65 C)
- Pretty quiet
- Nice lighting effects on the logo

Cons: - The included Gigabyte software seems to misreport the GPU temperature. I would play a game for a few minutes, then check the temperature, and it would say 88 C, then within 1 second, it would drop to 55 C. I used two other monitoring softwares, and the card never got above 65 C, even after an extended gaming session. This causes me to conclude that the card actually runs quite cool and that Gigabyte needs to fix their software.
- Pricey, but all Nvidia cards are right now.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this card. Just use other software to measure the temps on the card.

Great performance

Pros: - Performance - my budget didn't allow for a 4k monitor (yet, but will later), but on 1080p it's allowing me to use my 144hz panels to its full capacity. All games I have average at the least 110~120fps on ultra everything. PUBG runs at ~145~155fps on ultra for example.
- Stock boost goes to 1950mhz on my card - during benchmark tests and intensive gaming, I see boost clock hitting 1950 regularly while still maintaining good temps
- Runs pretty cool - even when hitting 1900mhz+ boost clock speeds, the highest temp I've seem was 68-69 celcius - room for overclocking further
- *edit* overclocked to 2050mhz without breaking sweat, and max temp still is around 69 degrees - I haven't seen max go over 70 yet.. (I did add an extra intake fan so may have helped)..

Cons: - i wish the RGB lighting included the "RTX 2080" part... preferrably with "RTX 2080" in the center... not that displaying "Gigabyte" is shameful or anything, but the RTX 2080 name is the show piece...
- Gigabyte software is meh... and RGB fusion just looks like some developer / UI designer got together and put something together just for the sake of having some app to control RGB on Gigabyte products.

Other Thoughts: My two cents in buying an RTX card against all reviewers saying it's a disappointment was that if RTX 2080 performs at least as good as or better in most cases than 1080Ti with the early drivers for around the same price, why not RTX over 1080Ti? Unless I already was on 1080Ti, it is still a huge upgrade and "future proof" over the 1080Ti. I get that for the same price bracket, the new gen cards should "outperform" the previous gen, but that doesn't mean you should buy the previous gen for the same money...

Defective Card

Pros: Well it's defective... I guess the Aorus Engine is kind of nice.

Cons: I am getting about 40 - 50% lower FPS in all games when compared to other 2080s. I have looked at everything under the sun in order to make sure that it wasn't my system causing this. Nope, it's the graphics card, and this is obviously unacceptable. I'm going to replace this with a new one through Newegg, and will update my review as needed. (What a massive hassle).

Other Thoughts: It seems Gigabyte RTXs are experiencing above average defects/failure rates. Their customer service is also complete and utter garbage. I would spend the extra $ on another 2080 if you can.
