The AX Series PSUs provides you world-class performance, with 80 PLUS Platinum-certified efficiency, low noise, fully modular cable sets, and high reliability for extreme performance systems.

General information

80 PLUS Platinum Efficiency

AX860 delivers up to 92% energy efficiency under real-world load conditions. Better efficiency means lower energy usage, less excess heat, and lower operating costs. Since less heat is generated, the fan doesn’t have to work as hard, so there’s less noise, too. It’s a great choice for smart, efficient power delivery.

General information

Zero RPM Mode for Silent Operation at Low Loads

The fan doesn’t even spin when your system is idle or doing basic work like surfing the web or running office applications.

General information

Easy Installation

The fully modular cable set lets you use only the cables you need. You can install the AX Series first and then add cables one-by-one without having to deal with the dreaded “cable octopus."

Stable, Reliable Power Output

High-quality components and careful design help ensure maximum protection for your PC’s components.

General information

Flexible and Compatible

AX Series comes with long cables for large cases, and lots of connectors for just about any hardware configuration.

Fully Modular Connection System with Low-Profile Cables

All of the power cables have connectors on both ends, with nothing hard-wired to the PSU. This makes for easier installs (you don’t need to deal with an octopus of cables while you’re putting in the power supply), and you can add cables one-by-one, using only the cables you need. The result is a cleaner-looking build, with better airflow.

General information

Clean, Stable Power Delivery

High-quality capacitors, a dedicated single +12V rail and a PF value of 0.99 give you reliable power output with extremely low ripple and noise. Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and short circuit protection provide maximum safety for your critical system components. And, AX860 is engineered to meet maximum power output at a server-grade 50° C temperature rating.

Wide Compatibility

The AX Series conforms to ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 standards, and is backward compatible with the ATX12V 2.2 and ATX12V 2.01 standards. It accepts universal AC input from 90V - 264V. Safety approvals include cTUVus, CE, CB, FCC Class B, TÜV, CCC, and C-tick

Great service corsair

Pros: Great corsair customer support

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Purchased ax750 11/2010. Has worked great. For a bit recently, computer just powering off or locking up while asleep. Had made lots of changes so unsure of cause. Finally just bought a new ax760. Worked great with no more power offs. One month from warranty being out. Contacted corsair, found invoice on newegg hx, sent to corsair, they rma'd and I sent in old psu ($15). No probs, sent me a new AX760(newer model). Great support, easy, no fuss. Will be happy with another seven years. Thanks corsair!

Failed on Day 2!

Pros: - sure it looked nice

Cons: - Failed after starting it up 3 times, 3!!!! Had to pay to do a diagnostic to make certain I didn't make an error in assembly, I didn't ... just a lemon. For what this cost, it shouldn't fail on the 2nd day of operation
- Would give 0 stars if an option

Worked intermittently for the first year. Now waiting on RMA for over two months.

Pros: - 80+ Platinum certified means clean power for your components!
- Small form factor for the wattage rating; perfect for building in a tight case like I did.
- Extremely quiet!!! I never heard the fan kick on once.

Cons: - Unit died suddenly after two months, then worked intermittently for the rest of the first year of ownership (see full story below).
- Customer Service has been less than helpful to this point.

Other Thoughts: I assembled my computer in December of 2015, and everything worked great for the first two months. All of a sudden, I came home from work one night, and my computer would not POST. I tried using the power button on the case and the motherboard; nothing would happen. The only sign of life that it showed was the lighting on the motherboard would light up. I didn't have time to troubleshoot further that night, so I left it sit. The next day, I get home from work, and poof! My computer is on and running normally. This happened 6 times over the course of 9 months, and thinking I had a motherboard issue, I kept trying different things (unplugging all accessories from the motherboard, resetting CMOS, etc), but nothing would get it to POST except leaving it sit, until it finally died completely. I tried the usual things, with no result, but this time I phoned a friend to lend me a spare power supply to try. I plugged it in and the computer fired right up. Plugged the Corsair unit back in and nothing.

So I now know my power supply has failed. My friend is generous enough to let me borrow his power supply while I go through the RMA process. I filed ticket number 6872185 with Corsair on 1/6/17 to get the process started. I received a response on 1/11/17 saying my request has been approved, and that I can ship my unit back to them for repair or replacement. They received my unit and the status bar moved to "processing" on 1/19/17.

Now onto the part that I am extremely frustrated with; today is 3/23/17, and I have still not received a replacement unit. I have not even been able to get an accurate estimated date of arrival yet. Everywhere I have read, and everyone I have talked to, has praised Corsair as having one of the best customer support programs in the industry, and I just haven't seen it yet. I used the chat feature on their support website after two weeks of not hearing anything, and the representative I spoke with (I saved the content of the chat) said that he was sorry that I wasn't notified, but the unit was not in stock at the time. He said to call the number listed on their website and they would be able to help me further. I called the number the next day (because they were closed by the time my chat finished up), and spoke with a different representative, who confirmed that the AX760 is indeed out of stock. She offered to send me a RM850 (one model below the AX series; $40 cheaper retail but with a higher wattage rating) as a replacement, but I declined for two reasons; 1) It would not fit in my case. The max power supply length I can have is 160mm. 2) I would rather have the higher rated AX series with lower wattage (my computer is only running an estimated 290W, so I'm already overkill as it is) than have the next step down with higher wattage. I inquired about the AX760i, and the representative informed me that those were out of stock as well. I asked when I may be able to see my replacement AX760, and she told me they will be getting a shipment in at the end of February. I'm OK with waiting that long. March rolls around, and still no word about the power supply. I called again on 3/13/17, and spoke with a different representative, who informed me that the units STILL aren't in stock. She says they MIGHT be getting some in on March 17th. It's now March 23, and still no word. My trusty friend who loaned me his spare power supply needed it back, so to keep my main computer running, I had to go and BUY a different power supply, and I still have no answer from Corsair as to when I might see my replacement. Very disappointed so far in my customer service experience.

I understand there's a difference between customer support, wholesale, and retail, but Corsair tells me that they are out of stock. I just did a web search, and every site I looked on says they have them in stock. There's even one site that says their inventory is low, but right after that it says "More On The Way". Are these units being shipped to the retailers instead of taking care of those who need them? If someone from Corsair decides to respond to this review, I do not want to see the standard "we're sorry to hear about your experience". I've heard that three times already from the customer support hotline. I want to know when I will receive my replacement power supply, and I want it now. Thank you.

Didn't Last

Pros: None

Cons: 2 month after installing it stopped working. My computer would shut down. My computer then had issues starting up. The system would turn on and the fans would start going but then it would just shut down again. Had to get it replaced but not before it fried my hard drive also.
