Hello. will this will work in a DELL Inspiron 518 Desktop? The existing (old) power supply is a Hipro HP-P3017F3 LF.

If your Dell is a "518" for sure, such as on Youtube.  Go to Youtube, then type in dell inspirion 518, and the first Cnet  video review will show you if you have a  Dell 518.

Then you need a standard ATX power supply.  Just make sure it comes with a 20+4 pin or 24 pin main connector.  They most all do, so there should be no worries.

So to answer your question,  NO, the power supply you showed me is a different type.  It will not work in the Dell 518.  That particular power supply is made for really SLIM Dell cases, such as  Dell 540s or 531s (note the s = slim)

Hi! I'm in NZ and want to know whether I could use this PSU there? There are no TFX PSUs available in NZ otherwise would buy locally due to the power differences.

My first question was, is it rated for New Zeeland line voltage (mains)?  I believe NZ line voltage is 220 Volts.  I checked on the main web page for SeaSonic: 
and there is nothing specific as to rated input voltage. But, if you look at the photos on that page carefully, I believe the label shows 100-240 volts input, so I assume you would be OK. I suggest you email sales [at] seasonic [dot] com [dot] tw as they can confirm if I am correct. I would also like to add that I have used 2 of these as replacements for failed OEM HP PCs power supplies with no problems in after about 2 years of 24/7 power on.

Looking to upgrade Inspiron 660s , running currently 220 watts power supply. Upgrading to geforce 640 graphics card. Will this work?

Hi Theresa - I can't say for sure, regarding the 640 (I don't know the recommended wattage it requires), but I purchased mine to upgrade an Inspiron 530s, and run a GEForce 610, and this thing ran like a dream. I've found that Seasonic PSUs are very well made: quiet, and less strain, even under higher loads. If I remember correctly, Newegg has a pretty good return policy, and I think I remember this being one of the better small form factor power supplies on the market.

If you mean a model 540S, then yes it will.  I think a "540" refers to the larger desktop models, where the "540S" is the smaller case size.

Open the computer make sure it uses a TFX power supply, if it does it will fit fine.  If you don't have access to the computer then i'm sorry i don't know.

Without the computer in front of me, I can't be 100% sure, but it does look like a TFX form factor psu, same as this seasonic unit.  Here is what I would recommend:  open your acer case and measure the dimensions of the psu and compare them to the measurements on this product page.  if the dimensions are very similar, it should work just fine. Check to verify that the connectors you need are all present on this Seasonic unit.

No, this power supply will not work with a gtx 770.  It does not have the necessary connections to power the 770.

It's hard to say how well this power supply may fit your Dell. The slimline computers sometimes have proprietary mounting brackets for their power supplies. I suggest you remove your old power supply and look carefully for unique mounting features on the power supply and case. Also look carefully at the screw placements on the original power supply and case. Finally take note of the physical dimensions of your power supply and compare the two closely. Hope this helps.

Will this work in my hp pavilion slimline? I have a graphics card that requires 20 amps. My computer model # is s5623w

I used this in a Slimline that came with a 220w PSU. Considering the largest TFX PSU on Newegg (at least that I found) is 350w, I imagine you should be fine with this unit.

I also think this is one of the most highly rated TFX units which is why I bought it.
