Does this make your existing drive a hybrid drive?

No. What this adaptor does is provide a means of fitting the mSATA drive into a laptop hard drive bay or allows you to use it as an external drive for either storage or to clone your existing hard drive. I used it to clone my existing 128 gig SSD so I could install the 480 gig in my Sony Ultrabook for more room to install programs.

This Addonics 2.5" mSATA Flash drive turns a regular mSATA SSD into a 2,5" SSD. The drive frame and the connector mimic the exact size and connector location of a 2.5" SATA hard drive. So once the mSATA SSD is mounted inside this 2.5" mSATA Flash drive, it can be used just like a standard 2.5" SATA hard drive.
