The Asus max vll hero will accept DDR 3 ram......so yes ......however if you decide to upgrade to the Asus max vlll.....then you will be looking at DDR 4's

It should, although the P5Q3 doesn't list 1866 as a supported memory speed. You may be able to select it, but it may be unstable at those speeds since the board doesn't officially support it. That said, you can run the memory at a lower speed that the board supports, and it would work this fine.
