Question 1

Is this compatible with a 21.5 iMac mid 2011 model? I don't see any reason why it wouldnt but I figured I'd be safe and ask.

I couldn't say for sure, as I've never owned a Mac-lap. But the Muskin memory is good quality. I've run their dimms both in home-built pcs and in multiple Dell Precision workstation replacement laptops. The one time I had an issue with a Mushkin product was with an SSD drive, and Muskin replaced it in a timely fashion. Enable auto-detection, and if you have problems with the dimms' performance, try inputting the recommended timings in CMOS.  -MCB

Purchased this RAM trying to add RAM to max of 2X4GB for an HP Elitebook 2540p that has 2X2GB now. Only causes constant restarts--never boots up. Had to reinstall old RAM with no problems.

Is this the wrong memory or defective modules? (Used New Egg's finder.)

Standard: DDR3 PC3-10600 SDRAM (1333 MHz)* Two SODIMM slots supporting dual-channel memory 1024MB, 2048MB and 4096MB SODIMMs.

Maximum Upgradeable to 8192MB with 4096MB SODIMMs in slots 1 and 2.

Dual-channel Maximized dual-channel performance requires SODIMMs of the same size and speed in both memory channels.

Is this compatible with a 2014 toshiba satellite C55 laptop?

Without knowing which model C55 you have since that model can have anything from a Celeron to a Core i7 this is more of a stab in the dark. I would say it should since the C55 line does run on DDR3 and the Mushkin RAM you chose is dual channel it would expect you would be fine.

Have been a Mushkin Dealer for over 20 years now. Their RAM excellent and their customer service is even better. If there is a compatibility issue, just contact Mushkin and they will swap the RAM for you so it won’t be an issue.

I cannot say for sure, but I doubt the memory DIMMs are different for the different sized laptops. I used these in a similar 13 inch model.  I think they would work fine for you

By looking at what specs I could find about your laptop, it will support up to 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1333, 204 pin. So I offer a non-expert "yes." I doubled my memory on my Alienware M17X-R3, so I had to match the voltages. If you're completely replacing your exsisting memory, you should not have to worry about that.
