Is this single or dual ranked RAM? Some laptops will not work with dual ranked RAM.

I really wish people would read the question instead of just hurrying to reply and make themselves feel smart. 3 years too late, but for anyone wondering, according to cpu-z this RAM is DUAL RANKED. Nobody ever asked anything about channels or iMacs. There is no such thing as dual channel ram. There is only SUPPORT for dual channels (or single, or quad) on motherboards. All ram will work as dual channel when installed into a motherboard that supports dual channels.

To recap, this is DUAL RANK memory (according to CPU-Z) and can be run in SINGLE CHANNEL, DUAL CHANNEL, or even QUAD CHANNEL if you buy (2) pairs.

Question 2

Has anybody tried this in a 2017 27" iMac 4.2GHz i7 (2017 current model)?  The specs match, but wanted a confirmation from an Apple user, Corsair or Newegg.

Yes, works without problem.  But you cannot use it to "supplement" your existing RAM sticks.  You have to ditch the old ones completely.

My iMac Retina 5k, 27-inch, 2017 only came with 8gb of ram and specs indicate this product is needed for performance if using Final Cut Pro. Any comments or concerns?

Will this work with a MSI trident 3 desktop? The computer is a micro and has (1) 8 GB DDR4 ram chip right now

Why do people answer questions on systems they are not familiar with? An MSI Trident 3 is a mini desktop. MSI Trident 3 uses SO-DIMMs like these. These will definitely work on an MSI Trident 3 DESKTOP!

Considering this for Intel Nuc, i5 quad core gen 8 bean canyon variety mainly because I have been well served by this brand or of RAM in the past.
Is this a prudent choice?
