Are these memory sticks unbuffered? I want to use these in a Ryzen build and the CPU supports unbuffered RAM modules.

All things are subject to change but, ECC is Error Correcting Memory and is commonly found in Server MB's to try and insure that the data is correct that is being sent to whomever requested it. It runs a little slower than non-ECC memory because of the cliock-cycles spent making sure their are no errors in the data or correcting the mistake if found,. Generally a home server might not have ECC memory but it is advisable in a commercial environment where the quality of the data is imperative. Usually non-ECC Unbuffered modules are used in home PC's. I have seen some Hynix Buffered ECC modules that would kind-of work in certain desktop MB's without erroring out but that's an exception, not the rule.

It would yes, if I were you I would look for the fastest compatible RAM that works with your CPU. There are lists out there. Perhaps DDR 3200Mhz, if compatible with that CPU you can get some extra speed. CPU just needs to support DDR4 3200, you need to enable the XMP profile in the BIOS though to get 3200Mhz.

But regardless yes, that will work. Will be an easy upgrade.

Yes, it is compatible with all supported CPUs for the B450M.  Note that with Pinnacle Ridge and Summit Ridge CPUs, 2933 speed requires overclocking.  This should be fine with sufficient cooling, but if you have any doubts, go with 2667 speed instead.  You can see the full specs on the ASRock website.

I want to buy this but everyone is talking about AMD and Ryzen... Does this work with Intel-based machines? I have a Z170A mobo and i6500 in my rig and now I'm uncertain whether or not this is compatible with my intel build after hearing all this AMD talk.

Corsair no longer lists the 2933 model on their site, but their 3000 model is compatible with both Intel and AMD chipsets, the voltage is the same at 1.35v, and they are both CAS16.  The Z170-A motherboard supports memory speeds up to 3466, so you shouldn't have any issues with speeds at or below that limit.  Worst case you can disable XMP and run the memory at the non-overclocked 2133 speed if you experience instability.
