Do I have to use a Corsair wireless mouse? or can I use other brands?

Any mouse will do. The keyboard has a USB 2.0 slot at the top that will work with any USB mouse.

Question 2

Can i use a wired mouse with the lapboard? (Does the keyboard have a USB passthru port?)

Accepted Answer

No.  Its only got the micro usb.  It does come with an adapter for the usb cord (micro to female usb)  that also allows you to extend your mouse cord. I'll also add that the clips that hold the keyboard down in the back have just enough room to fit your cord through, eliminating the tension and tugging from just having the cord go over the side.

Question 3

It doesn't look like it from the blown up picture but since the lapboard is removable can this be connected to the other side for a left-handed mouse user?

Unfortunately no. The lapboard is not modular, so the mouse pad is on the right-hand side regardless of the position of the keyboard. It's still a great lapboard though!

In the description it says that the keyboard is compatible with USB 3.0. Is it also compatible with USB 2.0?

Yes, the data rate for a keyboard is low enough that it doesn't require USB 3.0 and is backwards-compatible with USB 2.0.

I know this keyboard has both 2.4 ghz wireless and Bluetooth option. Does one tend to have lower latency over the other, or does anybody know the advantages/disadvantages of each?

According to a video done by Linus Tech Tips titled "SUPER Low Latency Wireless Peripherals - Corsair" (relevant info starts at the 50 seconds mark), Corsair claims around 1ms latency with their 2.4Ghz dongle and around 7ms using Bluetooth. In normal use, I don't notice much difference but use the 2.4Ghz mode to minimalize the latency.

How easy would it be to outfit this keyboard with different switches, say Cherry MX Browns?
