Pros:
We have had an Asus 901 for several months, and we've loved every day with it... so when we went looking for a second netbook, we knew what we wanted to find. This one is everything we loved about the smaller one, but better.
The screen is gorgeous, the keyboard is very easy to use (I am 6'4" tall with basketball hands, small keyboards annoy me alot, but this one is great for me) and the textured touchpad takes getting used to, but is great after the adjustment.
The blue exterior is a work of art in and of itself, and ranks among the most attractive portables I have seen.
This model has the newest N WiFi, and connected immediately at 150 Mbps right out of the box. The 901 runs 135 Mbps, so I was very pleasantly surprised at this upgrade.
The battery life on this one is astounding, I expected the larger screen would not rival the 901, but this one DOES last as long as the smaller one.
Cons:
The outside is gorgeous but fingerprints show easily.
The 8.5 hour battery life is only accurate for minimal functions (M$ Office for example will likely run for that duration) but movies and music take a major toll on the battery life. Plan accordingly.
I cannot think of ANY other complaints with this wonderful netbook.
Other Thoughts: If you want a GREAT mobile computer, look no further, this one is the real deal. Newegg had it here just slightly slower than INSTANTLY (best shipping speed in the world, I swear!) and the price is GREAT. Grab this netbook and you will be glad you did.
Pros:
I have owed and loved the ASUS Netbooks since they became available, and the improvements in eee PC 1005 Series continue to reinforce my belief that ASUS is at the top of their game.
I am especially happy that ASUS redesigned the keyboard.
Cons: None...this is a great machine at a great price.
Pros: The battery life is arguably the best feature of this product. It's really amazing how many hours you can squeeze out. Keyboard is fine for me though I have average/small sized hands. It surfs the web and plays .avi files just fine. Hard drive is spacious and has recovery files. Gotta love Windows XP SP3 =)
Cons: After a few months of use the hard drive occasionally makes some loud clicking noises, the be fine the next time I turn it on...very strange. Sound output to headphones/speakers could be better. The wireless card could also be better.
Other Thoughts: You've read it all before: tracks fingerprints and smudges. The seashell design is also a little strange at first but it seems solidly built. People with very large hands might go crazy trying to type on it but the keyboard is a little better than other netbooks I've seen.
Pros: Spacious keyboard, good performance, amazing battery life. Sylish. Extremely light. From my perspective, everything you could want from a netbook at a good price. Can run several applications or many browser tabs at a time without much trouble. Good size screen for a netbook. Runs cool for a laptop; never have the sense that it is burning my lap.
Cons: Low webcam resolution. Spacebar slightly raised, as a previous reviewer noted. Also wireless internet connection can occasionally be a bit slow to get started but it is stable once established. Also this may be the fault of my old wireless router and not the netbook.
Other Thoughts: Others seem to have mixed feeling about the touchpad, but I have found it to be one of the best I have used, including full size laptops. The only other petty complaint I have is that the charger and laptop LEDs both glow very brightly and I must cover them to sleep. Also, I may spend the $20 or so to get a 2 gig ram chip to make it even better at multitasking. One thing that surprised me is that the system monitor treats the atom as a dual core processor, which I was unaware of. This is presumably why it is surprisingly good at multitasking
Pros: Great little Netbook, booted it up as soon as I got it and loaded without any problems. Does exactly as it said it would do.
Cons: Didn't come with 2 gigs of memory, but most don't so don't think it is necessarily a con?
Other Thoughts: I have not experienced any problems with the power cord as some other people are claiming yet, the power block doesn't even get hot.
Pros: This thing is fast for its size. If you expect to play games it wont work. However if you looking for something that is mobile and to work with a desktop. This make an excellent addition to my desktop. I know can do class work and web surfing away from the tower. Also doesn't have the weight of a laptop and fits easily in my bag. The battery life is amazing.
Cons: The speaker is a little quiet but just use head phones. It is a definitely a fingerprint magnet
Pros:
-Size
-Keyboard has exceptional layout and good feel for a netbook
-Textured touchpad
-ASUS tools can be useful (such as on the fly function controls for battery useage) and are easy to remove if you don't want them
-No battery bump like a lot of 6-cell netbooks
-Not a bad looking netbook
-Can run a lot more than people think, just don't expect blazing speeds
Cons:
-Hot! The power adapter gets ridiculously hot and is kinda unnerving / disappointing. The machine itself tends to run pretty warm, too
-Noisy! At first I thought something might be wrong with it and was worried it'd need to be sent back, and the hard drive was a little clicky which kind of unnerved me. Checked everything out and it's all good, kind of notoriously a noisy model from some reviews out there so not a huge deal
-Finger print magnet (it's more annoying than I imagined) but won't be a real con for most
Other Thoughts:
It's not a perfect netbook but it is still better than most. Cannot stress this enough that you should UPGRADE RAM on this thing asap. With 2 gigs it is snappy, and it is extremely easy - literally 1 screw between you and 2 gigs of ram (doesn't void warranty either).
The cons are pretty annoying, so some people should definitely look at other options. MSI has the AMD Neo version out and anything non-atom is a pro ;) I'd still recommend this over ANY Acer and pretty much anything aside from the HP Minis and MSI (other than blocky looking aesthetics). ASUS is a good company, though, and I still give it 4/5 eggs!

Pros: It's a very capable netbook that's been awesome to own. I've surfed the net in all its fully featured glory, and have even loaded up some casual games like World of Goo and Osmos. Hulu and Youtube play fine windowed, in most cases performing very good in fullscreen. 720p WMV videos play remarkabley well and still look great on the 1024x600 screen, which happens to be very sharp.
You might have to use other players or codecs to get the best performance, also very similarly with flash video you might try other browsers or update your flash plugins.
Cons: For roughly $300 you really shouldn't have much to complain about. Intel Atom isn't meant for high performance computing, hence the term "netbook". Type up some documents, check your email, browse the web, do some Skype calls, and maybe edit and upload some photos and Youtube vids. If your needs aren't very demanding then you'll be fine.
Other Thoughts: I wrote my original review almost 6 months ago thinking all the while that it's just a netbook. I was ready for the eventuality that it'd die on me or cease to get the job done. Turns out that I did more with it than I really thought I would. I tip my hat to Asus :)
