Does the unit have an USB port?

The tablet side has a single micro-USB connector (same as on an Android phone, for instance), which can be used to charge the battery, but I think also support a regular USB connection if you have the appropriate cable (but I've not tried this).

The keyboard side has one regular USB port.

Question 3

Is the MS Office sent just a trial version?

No, the MS Office is a full single-user license for Office Home and Student.  The key also includes a full license to Windows 8 Home. Pro will cost extra and require an upgrade if you require additional features like BitLocker, Active Directory/Enterprise support, and Windows Media Center.

is this like a computer, where you can work on school projects, etc. -- that sort of stuff -- or is it more like an ipad, where options are limited?

I've had mine for about a week now...it is much more like a computer that can sometimes function as a tablet/ipad.  I was able to install full versions of CS4 Photoshop & Illustrator on mine, along with the free version of Office that is included.  Ipads can't do anything like that!  The one downside is the windows store isn't as great as the app store in iOS, but it has all of the big apps everyone wants.  Also, Windows 8.1 is the best OS I have ever seen and I've run Linux for years, android, windows, etc.  It is very fast and great for multitasking.

All in all, I am incredibly happy with mine, so glad I chose this over an ipad!

Is this the Transformer book that comes with Microsoft Office Home and Student pre-installed?

Yes, all you have to do is enter the serial code.  I called Microsoft (long story), and they removed the Home and Student copy and installed my license of Pro/Premium/whatever they are calling it these days.  And they told me I could use the Home and Student copy on another machine.  So presumably, if you don't activate it at all, you could just use the serial on a different machine if you didn't want it on the Asus (just a guess, though).

Does this tablet come with an MS Office pre-installed?

Inside of the box is a card with the Key Code for Office Home and Student.    I haven't loaded it yet but yes, it does come with it.  I shouldn't tell you this, because they are hard to get and I want at least two or three more of these, but this thing ROCKS!.   Make sure you do the Bios update, it is very easy and very important.   The more I play with it the more I am impressed.

Do you need a stylus for the touchscreen to work or can you use your finger?

You can use your finger or a stylist.  I prefer using the stylist.  Also, I always get a protective screen film too protect the screen from scratches and unwanted oils from touching the screen.

To get a wired RJ45 connection you need an adapter such as the following;  "EDIMAX EU-4306 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps USB 3.0 1 x RJ45"  (search on Newegg item description)  In the 20 buck range.

This small adapter cable can plug right into the keyboard dock's USB 3.0 slot.  If you need more than one USB 3.0 slot, such as for an external disk, there are economical little hubs for that, too.

Does this tablet have two cameras, or only one? Also does it 
have it's keyboard?

The ASUS only has a web cam (I think 1.2 megs of pixels) on the inside of the screen.  And it does come with the keyboard, which snap together and separate by pushing a button.  I would comment that they keyboard seemed small to me and I since have moved on to a larger, but similar 2 in 1.
