No, standard size USB port, but it does have the micro USB port like all Android devices. If you need to connect USB peripherals like flash drives, mice, & etc, you can just get an adapter like http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=9SIA0PG06U1118 and it works just fine. Only issue is you can't have a peripheral connected and be charging at the same time since they both use the same port.

Generally, music and pictures go to the usual location of other items on main drive. Go to settings, storage, and SD CARD. If it is there, you should be able to access the files on it. If it is not there, the files may not be compatible with android.

No 3G/4G...only Wi-Fi. It does have a microSD card slot.

You should specify any other questions you have. What's important to you may not be for another.

I researched it thoroughly before purchasing and have been happy with it. I use it occasionally throughout the week, not daily. Moderate app usage. Primarily used for internet browsing and watching digital format movies. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy multi-app use as the Atom processor and 2GB RAM don't seem to work well enough together to run multiple apps efficiently and without lag or crashing.

The specifications here says it got 3MP rear camera, while the Dell venue 8 should have a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front one, so which specs is true?

It is 5mp rear cam. images taken are 2560x1920. However, the still camera quality  is no where near as good as the video. Or exactly the same perhaps, which is bad in still but pretty good for video.

All controls in the full version of Windows 8.1 are available.  User accounts exist but I have never used parental controls

of course you can write text or even a word doc (text can be copy-pasted to word doc on PC). but do you really want to use the on-screen keyboard for serious word processing is totally a different issue. i'd use only for short notes.
