Does the unit come with an power/charging adapter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it came with the power adapter. I did uninstall all the 'extras': including Apple software, trial MS Office, etc. as we are using it as a dedicated instrument interface and want nothing else on it. It was a bit disappointing to see that the letters "S" and "M" were missing a good part of the paint of the letter. I also use it with a mouse, so cannot say much more on the trackpad than it works as little as I used it up front.

Does it have wi-fi?

Yes It works very well. I love this laptop and its features. The battery was DOA. I got another one from newegg for about $21. I haven't put it in yet though. I am also going to install an SSD drive in mine as well but it is not really necessary as this is a fast computer. Unlike a Dell many components are user upgradeable.

Question 3

What is the condition of the screen? Is it free of scratches and/or noticable missing pixels?

I bought 3 of these and each one was like brand new screens included.  The only usage I could tell was some wear on a few keys and the small stickers (processor and graphics) showed wear.  The screens had no evidence of usage; no scratches or dead pixels. My personal opinion is that these are a great buy.  They are not however slim and modern looking.  For the $$$, that was okay w/ me. For an i5 and Win7, the price can't be beat.

what is the red button for?

I do not know the technical name for it but it is not a button. It acts like a mouse and moves the pointer around the screen. All you do is put slight pressure on it in the direction you want the pointer to go. You may have noticed there are four buttons (two left and two right) above and below the touch pad. They all work all the time but I believe the upper two are intended to be used with the "red button". Lenovo has software that allows you to disable the touch pad when you have a USB mouse plugged in. This is useful if you frequently touch the touch pad while typing.

does this laptop come with a webcam/microphone and dvd player?

I has a CD/DVD-RW drive; with the right software (like VLC) you can certainly watch DVD movies.  It should also have a built-in webcam and microphone, for things like Skype.  You can checkout the full specs on Lenovo's site: support(dot)lenovo(dot)com and search for "Thinkpad T410".

I see it has one but we've never used it. Since the rest of the machine looked like it was brand new and it has worked like a new laptop, I'm assuming the camera works as well.

How many HDMI ports?

There are not any unfortunately. Just bought it for my wife to use around house for recipes and internet . Has great processor and runs very well. Pretty robust too. Just a cheap good machine for more simple things. I only get refurbs since I can fix them myself if I have to.

Does the 'esata" port on the front right side have it's own power on it does it require that you have a powered external device in order to use it?

I have used the port with a BlacX HDD Docking Station by ThermalTake, and the docking station had its own power cord.

I believe the esata port on the T410 requires the external device to have a separate power source, but I cannot confirm that. However, since most esata drives do require power cords when installed internally, I think it is safe to assume you need a separate power source.

What is Maximum amount RAM that can be installed?

The maximum capacity is 8GB of RAM.
There are two SO-DIMM slots.
Use PC3-8500 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
The use of 1067 MHz SO DIMM memory is recommended for this system.
It's a decent computer, a great value as a refurb.
