Question 1

Are you able to use the USB port while charging? I'm talking about attaching a USB Drive or Mouse/Keyboard while continuing to charge the tablet.

Yes you can. However the batteries on this tablet go bad within a few months. I have gotten 2, and both batteries became unusable within 6-8 weeks. Newegg is happy to replace them however.

Question 2

Can I run sites that require Adobe flash player with this tablet?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can.  I believe IE explorer that is installed on it comes with Adobe already and it updates with Windows Updates.  You can also install flash for other browsers.  In all honesty, you can install just about anything on this tablet, that you could on a normal computer.  Such as other browsers, Java, as well as many other programs, as long as you have enough space for it on the internal or external memory you have installed.  You may want to compress the C:\ drive for more space, or find a way to remove the recovery partition, but unless you make an image backup you might be out of luck if something happens.

Question 3

Where in the box or on the device will I find the office 365 lic?

Interesting.  I read the other questions and answers on this subject, then decided to try the Office 365 installation.

From the START screen, scroll down to the "Apps" list and click on the Microsoft Office tile (under "M").  This leads to a Login to your Microsoft Account.  When Logged in, I found that what I was installing was Office 365 PERSONAL, which allows one PC and one Tablet.  This iView SupraPad counts as THE PC.

At this point, the One Year timer appears to be activated, and you are prompted to download the application.  I'm only guessing, but it looks like the activation (License??) key is embedded  in the name of the file being downloaded.  I SAVED the download rather than letting it RUN.  I'm only guessing again, but it may be possible to copy this file to another PC, and run it there, but it will probably only run successfully once.

I too read the product description that said "..Office for the entire household on up to five PCs and Windows 8 tablets...", but it appears not to be the case.  I'll try contacting NewEgg later today.

Question 4

I can find the Office installer (went in the control panel, off desktop and use the "repair"), but where is the Office 365 1-year license?!?!?!?!

I was totally wrong on my earlier post, as after Christmas, I actually got to open the tablet.  The other Dell tablet I had was completely different installation.

Mine has a program to install the Microsoft office by scrolling down on the first metro home screen to show the applications screen.  Also, you will need to be logged in with Administrator privileges and your time needs to be set correctly too (can throw things off).  But there is a Microsoft office install when you look below the metro home screen.  Hope that helps you out.  If I run into anything else, I will get back.

Question 5

I pretty much have one question, how is this thing able to run any Windows store apps?

I have an old netbook with literally exactly the same screen resolution, and Windows is constantly freaking out about it, and refused to run any of the Windows store apps until I edited the registry to allow resolutions higher than native.

Can you even run Windows apps like the store, newegg, netflix, etc. on this tablet?

It can because it fakes its resolution to the OS -- it claims 1280x768 despite being 1024x600 (things look a little oddly pixelated).

As for installing app store apps, yes, they do work. I've even gotten the full Asphalt 8 running (GB's in size I believe). The trick is to disable hibernation and reduce virtual memory size to 200MB (expandable to 1GB). You'll free up lots of space. Also disable Windows Updates if security is not a huge concern on this little device.

how do you right click without a mouse on a touch screen?

Touch the item with your finger or stylus, and keep the finger or stylus pressed down gently. In a moment, a square or circle will appear.
Lift your finger or stylus, and the right-click menu appears, listing all the things you can do with that item.

has anyone successfully used it with an external usb DAC?

Yes,  it can do almost anything like PC.   But for what you want  to do it will take to much power even if you have it plug in. My purpose of buy is product is to do things in my job with out taking out my lap top. makes my job quick , and easy. I  don't like windows 8, but  almost everything in business is written for  IE explorer. going back to your answer, yes it can do it but not as well as regular PC

Is the Windows 8 license that comes with this for 32-bit, 64-bit, or both?

The O/S is 32 bit, the proessor would support 64 bit, but there is only 1gb of ram so 64 bit is not needed.

This claims to have a free upgrade to windows 10 when available. I know windows 10 went live a little ways back and i recieved it on my computer. How do i go about getting this on my tablet?
