Does the phone support NFC ?  I didn't see it in the specs but could have missed it.

It does not. I had to give up on using Android Pay. What you get instead is a good phone with a good camera that only needs to be charged every three days. Both my wife and I have these phones and we both get three days until the battery drops below 50%. Can any iPhone do that?

Will this phone work on Straight Talk with a 4Glte AT&T network?

Works on art / gsm systems. I believe straight talk does both GSM and CDMA . Make sure you get the GSM plan. The phone is fantastic.One minor thing. It has a hard time focusing during twilight. I just did 7 weeks in Europe and brought back some nice shots. Better than apple 7 for sure

No, You won't find a phone that is not sold by a major carrier to have wifi calling available. All the other mid-range phones do not have this feature either.

I may be moving to Europe. Does this phone have the correct frequencies to work on GSM networks in the US as well as in Europe? The countries of Europe use the dual band frequencies of 900-1800. The US uses mainly 850-1900.

the phone is unlocked, you shouldn't have any issues using this out of the country, if anything you can always get a new sim, its got 2 slots, plenty to play with here and abroad

Why am I only getting H/H+ on this phone on at&t? The plan is for LTE and I've tried changing the APN settings, but I still don't have LTE in LTE areas.

I'm using the 'ATT phone' APN that came on the phone and it seems pretty good. I notice that I see H/H+ more than I would expect, but I think phones are just getting more honest about displaying the connection you currently have rather than exaggerating. My APN type has 'default, mms,supl,hipri,fota' if that helps.
