Are the 8pin PCIe connectors actually seperated at the ends (6+2)?

Accepted Answer

The 8pin PCIe connectors ARE separated at the ends into 6+2. They are modular cables, and it seems like either end fits into the GPU or the PSU itself. I went with the split end in the GPU as that seemed like it would be the "Correct" way.

Question 2

Product title says "Crossfire Ready" but in the description/specs it only says SLI Ready. Will this work with AMD cards in a crossfire configuration?

Yes.  It can provide electrical power to at least two video cards at once - it's irrelevant what kind of chips are on the video card.   I have it powering two AMD cards in crossfire at the moment.  I think crossfire supports up to 4 cards - I'm not sure that this could handle 4 while powering the rest of a PC, though.

Have had zero problems with this product.

Question 3

There is conflicting information on whether or not the Platinum 1200 watt version has 100% Japanese solid state capacitors. On eVGA website it says it does, and on NewEgg comparison chart to other PSU's in this series, it says "No". Which is it? If it doesn't I'm probably going with the Platnium 1000 watt version.

will this work with a 1080ti or should i go higher?

I would say it likely should with most builds.  If you are planning on two 1080's maybe not..  But I have the 1200 in a pretty beefy machine and it works fine for me.

My mother board requires one of the 8-pin 12v and one of the 4-pin 12v power connections, is at least one of those 8-pin 12v power connectors separated at one end for the 4-pins?

Yes, there are two 8 pin connectors. Both are split. 4x2

tried emailing EVGA but they ignore me so im gonna ask here. Will this be enough to power 2 maybe 3 @ max evga gtx 1080 FTW cards ( for now will be 2 and thats it, maybe 3 in future), intel i7 6900k ( maybe overclocked at some point), 3 SSDs ( one of which is the M.2 drive), 5 HDDs, custom watercooling for the GPUs and CPUs, 7 120mm fans ( 3 of which are on 360mm radiator), 140mm fan, 230mm fan?

I'm running Titans 2 way SLI a corsair 110i, two Samsung 850 pros. My lian-li full tower runs 3-140mm plus 1-120mm plus 2-120mm on the corsair. And has ran fine for a few years. Running a 4770k@4.4ghz.  It might help to call EVGA as I have in the past. You'll get a reply much faster.

Is there a set of cables that has the same ones included with the power supply but are sleeved? Preferably blue, light blue, and/or white. Thanks!

You should call EVGA and ask them about after market retailers of the cables you need made for their power supplies. I know there are companies out there who are sponsored by EVGA and have what you are looking for, I just don't remember the names.

Question 8

What does the ECO mode do exactly?

Very simply, under low loads, the psu fan turns off. It quickly spins back up when the load increases (and can throttle up or down as the load changes). The purpose of this is to reduce wear on the fan and extend its life. Mine has been in ECO mode since day one and I've never had any overheating issues. I can only assume the fan life is being extended... time will tell. Overall, this is a hardy, well-made PSU.

In terms of cable length, will this work for a Phanteks Enthoo Primo case? Yes the huge one. Since i dont own the PSU idk... And my mobo only allows for dual which is no prob, but this has more than enough Sata connectors for me to do that and a little more right?

I'm using this in a pretty lalrge ATX case and had no issues with cable length they were all long enough to reach all of my plugs and connections.  As for SATA power I had way more than I needed with stock cables.

Question 10

I have the Corsair 800D case. I've been using the corsair HX1050 because cable length is a perfect fit, but its caused problems more than once and I'm done with it.  I was wondering if the cables for the EVGA 1200P2 were as long, mainly the main power cable and the 8 pin cable that attach to the top of the motherboard.?. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Bought the storm trooper case, which is a huge case.  The main cable for the mb just reaches from the ps.  Even routing from the back to hide the the case.  I like the seperate cables for everything and nomore unused cable hanging in the case.  So far so good. Just inatalled the ps yesterday.  Just want to make sure everything is working before answering your question.  Hope this helps.
