Disappointing 09/21/2010
This review is from: HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KHX6400D2K2/2G
Pros:
Nice heat spreaders.
Cons:
HyperX would not work with a DFI LANParty UT NF590. It would not boot computer during first install. I reinstalled the Crucial Ballistix I have been using and set the RAM voltage to 2.2 and I got to desktop with the HyperX. I ran Quake 3 timedemo and my computer blue screened. I swapped the RAM modules around and finished the time demo slightly faster than the Crucial had in the past. I tried 3dMark 2001 and the HyperX crashed to the desktop with an error and crashed Windows Explorer. I have been having some problems the two of the four Crucial modules and I wanted to make this computer build a bit longer to help survive the recession but I couldn't find a list of compatible RAM for this motherboard, and it's quite picky. Kingston listed the HyperX as being compatible, but I can't get it to run stable.
Overall Review:
Hopefully I can still RMA this RAM.
