Pros:
Drive doesn't fail. 5 year warranty. Not excessively loud, or power thirsty.
Cons:
Not superficially faster than the previous generation of Seagates. Firmware from 2006! Thanks Seagate
Overall Review:
I went from a 320gb third generation seagate to this guy here and the difference was truly disappointing. I was initially under the assumption that this was a fifth generation seagate, when in fact its only the fourth with an extended warranty (if this is wrong, please reply to me).
Boot time went up (even with a clean install), shut-down time went up. Obnoxious stuttering in video play that I hoped this drive would help remedy stayed the same, if not got worse. Nothing about this drive was is worth the money I put down. I'd recommend the 7200.5 seagate 750 (?) gb over this. Tom's Hardware did a really nice review for it. And its basically the same price.
I will probably return this if i cannot tweak my system to be atleast as fast as it was prior to this HDD.
