GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card GV-N580UD-15I
  • 1536MB 384-Bit GDDR5
  • Core Clock 795MHz (Std 772)
  • 2 x DVI 1 x mini HDMI
  • 512 Cores CUDA Cores
  • PCI Express 2.0 x16

Pros:

- Runs very cool compared to my old card (~33c idle, ~55c full load)
- No Frame spiking, in other words, smooth game play
- Quiet compared to the stock leaf blowers
- Ability to play older games (specific Z-buffering support)

Cons:

- The fans (excluding the one blowing out of the case) blows hot air inside the case.
- Need a decent case with good airflow

Overall Review:

my setup
- Core i5 760
- DDR3 1600 Corsair 4gb (2x2gb)
- Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P
- OCZ Vertex 2 120GB
- Dell UltraSharp '08 27" Monitor
- Antec Nine Hundred

My old card died after 2 years (constant temps of around ~55c idle, ~90c load at stock fan speed; Brand-new as well). I had to keep the fan speed at 55% to get it to comfortable temps to get more years out of the card. The noise level of the card was annoying, but good thing I had noise-cancelling headphones.

Also, if I wanted to run SLI on these cards, I would need to upgrade my motherboard to a 1366 socket or 1155 socket (I'm already bottle necking this video card through the current setup) to get the full use out of these cards. Otherwise, this is a great card. Well worth the money.
